This is so great and Hindu sages have written about it. Upanishad talks about these power concepts and how illusions stand in the way of our perception of reality. There is one passage in Upanishad that talks about we are all agents of consciousness and we are complete but limit ourselves with time space perception. The tools given by Sanatana Dharma is to look beyond those conditioning we are subjected and see the truth beyond the interfaces.

Do the Upanishads tell us that we are holographic images constantly being created as quarks spin billions of times a second as 3 points of light forming protons and neutrons? I have a feeling the answer to that is no. I used to read those books but I was never clear, so I had to read quantum physics to get to the nitty gritty details. The book HANDS OF LIGHT written by the physicist Barbara Brennan says we are electrical energy fields because atoms spin/vibrate as positive/negative poles. The forms these electrical fields take are the souls projecting us AS THEIR images. Our bodies are images ! The world around us is a set of images. That is why the word illusion is used so much. We are not physical and we don't die because we are constantly being created.

Carl Jung believes that psychological mental health issues block Consciousness. I prefer Jung's hypothesis relevant to modern man, although I respect many of Hoffman's creative hypotheses. The reality is that mental health issues can be resolved and Consciousness can be actualized, incrementally. (If consciously persued.)

It's an illusion in the same sense as a user interacting with a desktop as opposed to actually messing with the underlying computer code or a gamer playing a game as opposed to fiddling around with the hardware. That being true however, that shouldn't be taken to mean that the science is somehow meaningless or that it can't help us to look outside the "headset". It's not like there's some intrinsic rule and/or higher entity actively blocking us from making progress on that front.

What is Reality? It's Pure Consciousness, "In-Itself". The entire universe is That Consciousness (Shankara's Advaita Vedanta). This is experiential by accessing "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir". Listen to it for 5 min per day for at least two weeks. In due time you will enter into a state that transcends the realm of mind. It's Pure Consciousness, Sat-Chit-Ananda.

Science is clueless...the simplest research you can do is ESP and isn't mentioned. If I guess more than random chance the symbol my daughter is sending me, consistently, we are communicating with out talking. Rupert Sheldrake has proved that the sense of being stared at is real and animals know when their owners are coming home, they go sit by the door, even if coming in a different car and unusual time. We are spirit first and are given a body to use to experience this amazing life where everything we do and say is of great import, as we will all find out. The complexity, symetry and beauty tell us that God is beyond amazing beyond the smartest scientist, "The heavens declare the Glory of God" "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Consciousness is the sum total of the consciousness of my atoms which will someday be computable? Good luck on that research. Just an honest reaction by a crone who sees things.

Everything you see and feel is created by your brain. Even now, when you read these lines on your monitor or display. But that doesn't mean the environment is fantasy. Right (per Sam Sam comment). Sorry Donald, but these concepts have been covered with a fine toothed comb by Nargajuna (150-250), Chi-i (Tien Tai), Shankara (788-820) and his Advaita Vedanta. Then there are hundreds of non-dualist teachers spring boarding on these ancient themes such as Ramana Maharshi, Eckart Tolle, Rupert Spira, etc. and countless others. So Dude, don't try to peddle these ideas as something new!. In a nutshell, causations and everything else in the universe are appearances "in/as" Pure Consciousness, or Brahman (Sat-Chit-Ananda), the Essence or Substance (Aristotle's "Being-In-Itself" of the universe. To use a metaphor from the Upanishads (championed by E. Schroedinger), imagine countless clay pots all made of clay but with different shapes and sizes. The "clay" represents the all-pervasive Foundational Substance, of Pure Consciousness-Without-An-Object. The shapes and sizes are what people mistake for the true reality. We can tap into and merge with Pure Consciousness Itself by accessing "Mahamritunjaya mantra - Sacred Sounds Choir".
