If the FAA knew that the drones were in the air, they were authorized, and they knew what the mission was, then why wouldn’t they just say so when this was causing panic? To add, if the FAA authorized these drones to be in the air and it would potentially interrupt airfare, they would have put it out to ATC any number of ways as to not disrupt airport operations. If it wasn’t the enemy, and it was known why these drones were in the air, why wasn’t it more clearly communicated from beginning to end? I don’t buy this story

If the FAA was aware then why didn't they inform local airports? Several airports in the northeast, and in other places across the US, have had temporary shutdowns due to unidentified aircraft (drones) being in proximity to, or directly over, the airports. Why wouldn't the FAA have contacted the towers or airport administrative staff to make them aware and possibly prevent the shutdown of an entire airport.

This is a lame attempt to explain the drones and it leaves more questions than answers. For one it doesn't address the orbs. I might be inclined to let it go if I hadn't seen one outside my window in November and I live in Los Angeles. Two drones were also there hovering near the orb.
