I live in a red state, and a poor one at that, and many of my coworkers voted for trump. A couple of the moms at work benefit from state funded daycare assistance. One of them came to me crying because her benefits worker is a friend of hers and told her that the workers have been warned that when cuts are made, they expect only about 10% of parents who currently qualify will continue to qualify. Which also means most workers in that program will lose their jobs. She said she doesn't know how she'll afford daycare. I feel bad for impoverished people who will be caught in the political crossfire, but I really couldn't think of anything to say. I wanted to say "what did you expect when you voted for that administration" but I was at work and didn't want to start any drama on the clock.
