You should cover photographers and brands that have done “assault victims” as fashion campaign images in the past. Such as models who are supposed to be unconscious or submissive. That would be very interesting to look back on in 2019 considering the light that has been shed recently.

I saw in the past you made a fashion review video about a Drag Race episode. If you still watch, it would be interesting to see a season recap (any season, or maybe when AS4 is over) of your thoughts on some of the looks from a fashion perspective--particularly designer references that might have completely gone over the heads of us peasants.
@goodgirl1406 жыл бұрын
Taylor E I would be extremely interested to know his take as well. Drag is pretty theatrical and over the top, so I’d be curious to see how he assessed the look from a fashion point of view.

Paul Smith I'm happy that drag is becoming more accepted as an art form but at the same time it's getting more mainstream and the queens don't have the artistic freedom they used to. ru said it was bad taste however I loved manillas look and feel was limiting the art form. I would love to hear what Luke thinks about that and the runway looks so far. I know he used to do those videos.

@@gracemarielle5181 "Rupauls drag race done fucked up drag" in the eloquent phrasing of Jasmine Masters. Which is the truth. Rupaul doesn't give a fuck about drag or the contestants. The show has become a marketing platform for everything that keeps the Rupaul legacy alive and his bank account firmly padded (excuse the pun). It also seems hypocritical how Ru claims manilas' runway was in "bad taste" when his own career is predicated on looks emulating the desperation and plight of black/trans street walkers in the meat packing district!! The show is now pandering to the whims of the most annoying sjw's and sensitive snowflakes hiding racism under "preference" in a toxic popularity contest engineered by producers. Creativity on this show is no longer rewarded.... Rupauls drag race is to showcase unnecessary drama it seems. I loved her look... whimsically dark which is what true drag is all about.

Do reference Marlene Dietrich when talking about women in suits. She wore actual men’s suits in the 1930’s. And was most likely the first. She was everything!!!!
@StelinaJustice6 жыл бұрын
The more you elaborate on fashion statements/ trends/ icons, the more I like your videos. Regarding the notion of " masculine femininity", I think Marlene Dietrich was one of the first to sport it. And for me, Madonna will always be a fashion icon (see Jean Paul Gaultier collaborations among many others). Lastly, let me add that I also like Donatella Versace. Keep posting videos like that :)

First of all, I stumbled across your channel and I love you! Now that that is out of the way, look up Marlena Dietrich. She is an actress from the 30's, 40's and so on. She was one of the first women to take a suit made literally for a man, have it impeccably tailored with a crisp oxford and loafers and looked stunning! She was also one of the only open bisexual women from that time. Alot of people say lesbian, but she actually dated both sexes and is famous for being open about it. Aside from that......keep doing you boo!

the Donna Karan shoot is also super interesting because if you think about the political context of the early 90's (specifically the Anita Hill sexual assault hearing against supreme court justice Clarance Thomas)-- 1992 was actually considered the year of the woman in terms of how many women ran for and joined US Congress that year! love love love the history. fashion will always be political!

Donatella in the givenchy ad isn’t JUST a charity case! You said yourself that she is the FACE of versace in a lot of ways. Therefore, even just by having her in the givenchy ad, it’s also advertising Versace.
