I have found that the midpoint of the Donchian Channel follows closely with the 20-period EMA. In my system, they generate the same signals. Are they related?

It is 20 period average of high and low. So it relates exactly to kijunsen or base line of length 20

@@thug43 Hi Thug. Barry does leave a link to set up his cycle indicator. In simple terms; it’s the stochastic indicator with the setting of 5,3,3. There’s a bit more to it than just that but it’s a fairly reliable way of telling when the market has made a short term turn. Barry combines that with how he uses MACD to measure how many waves in the trend . While he gives a lot of information on KZbin, it’s best if you buy his foundation courses 1 and 2, to learn how to use it to its fullest extent. The courses are not expensive and I consider it as money well spent. I’ve done a number of paid courses over the last couple of years and rate this as one of the best. It might take you a couple of times going through the course but you will have a solid method of trading once you master it.

@@thug43 I hear you on cost of living. I live in Australia although we have higher wages here, I only started looking into trading a couple of years ago. I first was interested in 2007. Couldn’t afford it much before then. Given your situation, may I suggest you look up Simple Forex Chanel. Although the young trader never identifies himself, he is an impressive trader with a very clever way of reading the market. He also has a a free telegram group of traders that both he helps and they help other learning traders. I’ve never been on it, but once you see his videos, I think you’ll be impressed, plus the free help. Rayner Teo is another good trader that has good classical analysis method. Worth looking up his KZbin Chanel.
