Don, I have been a Spoonplugger for years and have fished a few times with Steve Craig on lake Harris and some of the other lakes in the chain, like Griffin, Yale, and Apopka. A few years back I had Terry O'Malley in my boat giving instruction on structure on lake Rhodhiss near Hickery,NC. I have learned a lot from your vids and thank you for sharing your experience with us. I have located a nice set of underwater roads and bridges on that map, just around the bend from my house. Last weekend, I was bumping the bottom on my way there. I got hung up pretty bad, kinda ruined my day. I don’t know what I “caught”. I haven’t invested in any sonar equipment yet. Question: how do you keep from catching Christmas trees and such without seeing the bottom?

Do you have a plug knocker? I use the fish looking one from bass pro and I put the string on a old abu garcia 5000 baitcaster and cut an old/broken rod after the first eye from the reel seat. It works for me.
