This is the story of a man that is seeking to self discover. Donell Jones paints the picture so vividly through his lyrics. He and his girl have been together since they were teenagers and even though he knows he loves her, he still feels like it may be necessary for him to explore the world and get over his curiosity about what else is out there. He's torn about whether to stay or leave because he loves his girl and doesn't want to hurt her, but he doesn't want to get to the point where he regrets not getting to experience life as a single man. So he makes the decision to take a break and steps out there and sleeps with the girl from the club only to come to the realization that it wasn't worth it after seeing his longtime girl on a date with someone else. That's when he calls her outside and pleads for her love back and apologizes. The truth of the matter is this is the reality for a lot of men. Some choose to stay and be faithful, some choose to take a break, and some choose to cheat. Moral of the story is if you know someone is valuable to you, don't take them for granted and risk losing them. The strength of your love for them will determine the outcome.
