For some reason I dont have the option to make a trade deal with the Han turn 1

Ah, this might be related to this early game guide having released before the last major patch, where the river blockades were added. Trade might be impeded to the Han capital from Dong Zhuo's capital

I will make an updated guide, but I keep him and restore the Han. Until then, keep maximizing intimidation and coercing money from the Han Empire

One of the easiest factions. Just Disband Expensive armies to save money for abandoned stables on the north and Grab another one from Ma Teng. They also have Li Jue who can reduce units upkeep by 10%. It is possible to defend with Lubu and Jia Xu plus town guards without retinue soldiers so you will be able to summon your generals everywhere your foes coming in. Once you get the emperor support , you will be able to play mounted units at very low cost.
