That's the misterious and unique power of pure artists and their art: they can be relevant and engaging even 100, 200 years after they are gone. I am Italian and "discovered" Bill Hicks' and George Carlin material from the latest 80s when I was in my twenties, in 2006-2007. To me, their routines sounded more current and accurate than any other work I'd heard before, and those routines were already 20-25 years old when I first listened to them. Look at their material today: it is even more relevant than back then! True artists embrace the entire human condition, they speak for generations and to generations, and you can always get how good their points are and learn from them if you are willing to listen to them carefully. Fran is a true artist, that's why she sounds incredibly interesting :)

Just woke up from a dream where I was hanging out with a person named Ann Lebowitz on my birthday, who looked exactly like early 80's Fran, but had never heard of Fran Lebowitz. Pointless dream, but still felt like I needed to post this here.

Gosh I forgot about Fran. I'm 31 so I missed out on alot of her earlier stuff but I remember her when I was a kid. Fascinating lady. All of your videos are like the perfect time machine for me. Thanks again for uploading all of these.

Classic interview footage. Dave’s “desk” is about as substantial as an end table from Ikea.

I have been hoping this was in the works but would never presume to suggest. Only a couple other "great women of Late Night" come to mind who haven't been compiled, thanks so very much Don!

Who are the others you’d like to see?
@J.T.Broderick3 жыл бұрын
@@dongiller I don't like to say, it makes it sound like I want more and I'm not grateful for what I've got. BUT, if you insist... I was thinking Tracey Ullman and Tama Janowitz. There I said it! Thanks again and always!

Sounds good. I’ll put ‘em in the To Do folder.

Tremendous! In your own good time of course! This has been so fun to watch, all the laugh lines triggering memories. I can't imagine what my sense of humor would be like today if it hadn't been for LNwDL and guests like Lebowitz.

Remember seeing the Prince/Fran 1994 episode, where she calls Prince her “fave rave”.

If you catch some old Law and Order (any version) episodes, Fran pops up occasionally as a judge.

Fran & Dave need their own show, I hate it when they say they've run out of time!
