I had the absolute pleasure of seeing Tori live 3 times from Earthquakes to Pele and was absolutely smitten with her intricate mannerisms during her performances. You could hear a pin drop after the final seconds of each song as everyone caught their breath. I saw her debut Bliss and Juarez on the 5 1/2 Weeks Tour shortly before TVAB was released. Y2K was right around the corner and I felt like those two otherworldly songs were literally pulling me into the 2000s. And they kind of did. That February, I got the Pay-Per-View of the same tour for my birthday party. My Dad was there. He loved her too. We had so much fun. He just passed away a few months ago and guess whose music has been the soundtrack of his transition. 🙏

One one hand, I'm sad that Tori Amos never got the recognition she so richly deserves; she should be considered as a legendary singer/songwriter and her piano skills should be mentioned among the greats. As a long time viewer of Letterman. I watched nearly every episode of his shows from the early days until he left The Late Show in 2015. It was from seeing Tori on Letterman that got me interested in her music and quickly became a huge fan. I've seen her 5 times in concert since the 1999 5 1/2 week tour with Alanis Morrissette. Thanks for posting these video's. It brings back many memories from Tori's early performances.

Since he was plugging the Under the Pink album for that song, I went out and bought that CD. Then discovered it was on Earthquakes and had to go buy that one.
