A set of 888's would be great for the track, just remember if you are driving too and from the track on them the drone will drive you mad! I have a set on another set of wheels but I also have back seats to put them on for the journey... Not so good for sliding round the bends either! It's possible the discs have warped from having to slow down such a high powered car, even the disks Audi put on the R8 might be at their limit stopping a car with the power you are running. You can use Bald Yoda's micro gauge thing from checking the backlash on the 86's LSD to check if the disc has any movement from being warped. Enjoying your laps, you seem amongst the fastest out there, just stay clear of the wayward black Lotus!

I just got brand new AP Racing discs so nah they're not warped. Apparently 99% of cases of "warped discs" are actually just uneven pad deposits on the disc from the pads not being bedded in properly or not doing cool down laps after abusing the brakes on track. Yeah looking at the R888Rs but waiting until everything else gets sorted out first

+DedicationBlog I don't think it would be the disks either then, think I have seen so many brake swap vids I can't remember what you have on what car 😜 hope you manage to sort the gearbox whine and linkage issues, agree they are far more important then tyres at the mo!

That brake judder isn't ABS activation is it? I know ABS feels like a pulse in the peddle, just with it still being in the M4 after the brake change, made me think its the ABS you're feeling.

nah definitely not ABS. It's noticeable even at low speed with a light press of the brake pedal - it feels like you're pressing the brake slightly harder/softer repeatedly even though you haven't moved your foot on the brake pedal. Pretty sure its just the pads not bedding in properly so there isn't an even distribution of pad material on the discs

Are you lowering your tyre pressures, handling drops off completely if you are not taking into account the heat buildup making your tyres over-inflated ?

No I've not been lowering them, but I've never lowered them before for other track days and they've never been this slippery before. I enjoy sliding around more than I enjoy getting an extra second off my lap time though so its fine

Yeah a little bit. The guys who installed it said change at just over 7K RPM as the torque starts to drop off after that. On some of the clips I was short shifting a little to save a tiny bit of fuel too though

Yeah, although I don't always get it perfect. Probably got too used to driving an auto recently lol

just switched to Pagid RS42 and that's what I'm having all the vibration issues with. Other people seem perfectly happy with them though
