The cool thing about watching these Ana Vidovic videos is having met her and knowing what a gracious and friendly person she is to her fans. She's high class all the way, and her playing is so technically brilliant! Ana is my favourite artist. She seemed gently amused when I told her so. I guess a lot of people tell her that. She works really hard at her job, being the best possible musician she can be takes incredible dedication over many years. My hat's off to her because I could never work as intensely hard at something as she has. It's not remotely an accident that she's one of the best musicians in the world. This video is 10 years old. Her playing seems to me even more effortless today.

She's not tiny. She's about 5'8" or so, I'd guess. Standing next to her you wouldn't think she was particularly small. She has small bones and is thin, but not particularly short.

@@FusicPool It does not sound too much like Barrios. He would play with a more folkloric style as you can hear from his own recordings (even metal strings). I just feel that many Barrios' interpretations are just too "classical" and dry.

ameblo.jp/galwayera/entry-12231162875.html BWV-1001 is just equal to sonata for violin solo in g-minor. Ana Vidovic has played it completely by guitar on behalf of violin. I must declare this is a nice behavior. Well, let's listen to this 2nd movement. . This is a typical g-minor fugue. And her guitar playing is so distinct and steady that we can comprehend what the fugue is. I think it's probably 3 or 4 voices excellent fugue. Anyway, Ana Vidovic is a truly great guitarist.

Suena mucho mejor. BWV 1001-1006 in guitar is better than in violin.

Very well done! I always judge a musician more on how they play the slow pieces than the fast ones, because the slow pieces really have to breathe - she does them very well. (For a very different but amazing treatment of this piece see watch?v=TIZFzEsdx_Q.)
