I also had an incredible mom. I told her that her best friend's boyfriend had touched me and that he threatened to kill them. My mom discreetly told my dad. My dad went for that lowlife and would have killed him. But they both ran out of our home and raced off. We hugged each other a long, long time. Mom and I had always heen very close. I told her everything because she wanted to know about my life and listened to me. My dad and I would take long walks together and share lots of questions and advice. I was only 9 when it happened, but my close relationship with my parents made all the difference. Both of them have been and will forever be my heroes and angels. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing movie with us. It's vital message that NO MEANS NO must be insisted on with everyone!

@@kane8012 I think she's lovely but this character... probably not the best mom. She believed her daughter but other than that she's clueless about what her child is going through, she didn't notice how she changed, her frustrations or feelings. Only when IT happened did she talk to her daughter about sex. That's sad, poor kid needed her mom before

I wish i had a mom like that, that would stand by me no matter what. My mother always believed the lies that fed to her by others and she even slandered me with them. I have stopped talking to her for two years now, my father told me I was trash, a piece of crap. And put hands on me. I never believed him even though i was betrayed. Today I have a beautiful daughter who I love and she loves me till the end of the world and back and I promise to always respect her protect her and love and stand by her forever.

Believe it or not I was just like her growing up I’m 27 now and I was very much trying to find love for the wrong reasons but I’ve never been raped before. You have to find confidence within yourself and know that you’re worth it everything you go through is a reason and you can grow to teach young girls how to respect their selves I’ve got my heartbroken a million times. And I’m very successful and I’ve learned from my mistakes. Trouble don’t last for long 💕

It wasn’t until my early 30s that I began to feel this way and experience these things. I guess you could call me a late bloomer? I learned the hard way that you can’t depend on anyone to make you happy. You have to find it in yourself.

I agree with this. My 2nd husband and I had a blended family. I had 3 daughters he had 3 sons. 1 of which, his oldest, he had custody of. So we married he moved in with us. He showed me concerns that I addressed to my husband at the time early in our marriage. I caught him trying to record us girls changing, in the bathroom, I found pics and he was 9. My daughters were older 13. So I wanted to talk to him about his behavior. Knowing his uncles, his father and some of the men in his family he is close to would degrade woman. But my husband refused to talk to him about sex and his behavior. He said, it’s fine. He’s a boy and my dad didn’t talk to me and I’m fine. He wasn’t that fine. He was a womanizer & married to me. Anyway, 5 years down the road, I ended my marriage with him. His son threatened my daughter and he had plans to do things that violated her. I pay attention and noticed her behavior. I made her talk to me and her father (my first husband) to find out what was happening. She told me I was happy and knew I would end my marriage with the story she didn’t want to share with me about his son. Luckily, my daughter knew how much I loved her & she can trust me. I was there for her. Not my 2nd husband, not his son & his actions…. But for her only. I also told him that he hurt his father as I ended our marriage immediately!!!!! He showed no remorse which was even scarier. But CPS was called, things were documented because you NEVER know.

Because back then people would say the girl asked for it because she lead him on or dressed like she wanted it. The men on the other hand were high fived for getting in her pants. Sad but date rape or rape from someone you knew was not talked about. Girls/women were thought to feel like it was their fault so they didn't report it like they do today.

This movie is definitely something that happens all over the world. Disgusting young men each lusting over a girl and treating her like she was just a piece of meat with no feelings or soul. In all honesty, it's up to the parents of these young men and young women to teach their children about morals, how to be respectful towards all people, and about proper manners towards the opposite sex? No means no! Even though I've taught my 25 year old son all of that, it's up to him to choose to be a good person All we can do as parents, is to do our best to make sure we've taught our children right from wrong, how to respect others, and hope that they will always remember what they've learned growing up and treat other people well.

20 years later since the film released , it is still relevant. Education starts when one person learn how to respect another. Fathers must teach boys how to respect another individual. Why don't world make arrangements to cut off the stem and stones of the rapers?

She is still grieving her dads deadth, she is trying to fill that void of losing her dad by seeking love and attention from male. Its obvious she is hurting and we can tell that by her reaction after intercourse that she regrets it and hate herself for it. These boys are heartless and manipulative. Its sad to say that we still have boys and men like that today, who will prentend, say anything just to get into a girl pants. Kaylee needs to go to grieve counseling. Her mom is very supportive and understanding.

This movie hit the nail on the head. Saying no means no now. I worked in a school as a custodian and herd a girl say no and stop it please. I found the young couple in a stairway and told the boy to back off and go home. I asked the girl where she lived and she showed me and I told her I would watch and make sure she made it home. I told her to tell her parents what happened, and the very next day I was called into the office and told it was none of my business. I lost my job because I intervened and I would do it again. The boy was arrested for attempt of rape and me losing my job was worth it

Young people today are so naive about sexually transmitted diseases. There is a lot out there that can either kill you or make your life miserable forever. And, by the way, "throwing on a condom" is not the ultimate answer. It is better than nothing but it is not a perfect solution by any means.

You're so right! The problem is that the broken families, broken lives have increased, the sexual promiscuity has been promoted too much in the media; and the kid engage in sex too early, when they aren't yet ready, nor mature, therefore, many become SEX-ADDICT, no kidding... Parents should care more for loving their children before is too late. :(

Mari B. If they care about you, they will wear a condom. Any guy who gives you a hard time about it isn't concerned for your safety, or his for that matter. The next time a guy gives you a hard time about having to wear a condom, tell him to get lost and don't let him talk you into doing it without one! Men transmit HPV, one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. The disease typically doesn't have much affect on a guy, but it leads to cervical cancer in women that can spread to the uterus and ovaries. The treatments for it are excruciatingly painful and it's a disease you could carry for years or even your entire life. No party hat, no party. Take care of yourself first and foremost. Until you meet a man who you will marry and be committed to, never have unprotected sex.
