I was born in 95’ and grew up with Mario vs Donkey Kong. I never knew this game existed until I discovered it through the chronicle from Smash Bros Brawl. I played it on the original gameboy that’s how old school I am.

You know what makes this more epic? This game came out shortly before Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. So, in many respects this game was Classic Arcade Donkey Kong's swan song. An epic finale for the franchise that put Nintendo on the map.

This music really shows that this is not just the final battle for this but for everything Mario has been through against cranky. Two bitter rivals since 1981. Mario had to go through a ton of barrels to finally save Pauline, and after that, he captured Cranky only to be stopped by his son and evening the score between the two. This battle shows who is better one, a tie breaker. And the battle after this one shows cranny’s desperate on winning, even if it means going full on King Kong on the plumber. Good job Nintendo

Ah yes, *Showdown At The Tower* - truly some of Donkey Kong's - heck, _Nintendo's_ - most underrated music of all time. This track just goes _all in_ - and never looks back. How this never made it into Smash Bros in any format - how this game still isn't on the Game Boy Switch Online - I just don't know. But Nintendo needs to remember DK'94. The final boss theme is still pretty darn good, but I've always felt like this is where the game's already excellent soundtrack _peaks._ Top notch Game Boy music, you don't hear better than this. Would love to hear this track done live in concert or the like, heh, someone going all _DragonForce_ on their guitar for the solo just before the loop point. Now sure, we got a Mario Vs. Donkey Kong (remake, I believe?) on Switch - I tried the demo - it just wasn't really for me. I'm happy for the people into Mario Vs. Donkey Kong that wanted the game, that loved the game, sure, I'm glad you have it, it's all yours. It just wasn't something I was able to get into. I just kept thinking, "Honestly, I could just be playing DK94, at this point - this game just isn't the same." So I hope Nintendo, at some point, remembers the roots of MvDK and at least gives us this game on Game Boy Switch Online - if not a remake that does it justice. I can hope, I can dream, at the least!

Honestly if Donkey Kong ‘94 Were ever to be remastered, I wouldn’t want it to be exclusively a 2D platformer, I’d want it more similar to Mario 3D world. I also kind of want DK Senior (or young cranky Kong) to look exactly like he does in the artwork depicted just to show that this isn’t donkey Kong doing this. Imagine this song remastered with a full choir singing it similar to Bowser’s battle in Mario Galaxy (or Skyrim) just a bunch of men singing in some sorta Viking ensemble with large drums booming your ears. If Nintendo’s willing to bring back Link’s awakening then I’m very positive they’ll bring back this game…perhaps a 30 year anniversary? June 24, 2024 release date? I’m already calling it.
