I could be wrong, but if I remember correctly the Donkey Kong we see in the first Donkey Kong game and Jr. Is actually Cranky Kong, the father of the Donkey Kong we know right now, and Donkey Kong Jr is actually the Donkey Kong we know right now and see in games like Donkey Kong Country and is the son of Cranky.

Very close - Donkey Kong Jr. grew up to be modern day DK's dad. The timeline doesn't make the most sense, but at the very least it's not as bizarre as what happened with Tiny Kong.

What’s with the radio silence? I’ve just discovered this channel, and I was happily surprised by how high quality it is compared to other compilation channels. My very 1st experience with Donkey Kong Jr. may've been with the GBA e-Reader emulated version of the NES game back in the Gameboy Advance era, but I felt like I really miss the poor baby as much as the 1980's arcade gamers does. Nintendo, bring the son of OG Donkey Kong back please. :'U

Are you kidding me? Donkey Kong Jr. is so bland! Sure Diddy Kong is a reskin of Donkey Kong Jr. but the former is so much better. DK Jr. should have stayed in the 1980's. Why does he still make appearances? It's no wonder Nintendo doesn't use him much as of the early 2000s. I can't blame Nintendo restricting Donkey Kong Jr. to cameos. He deserved it, not Daisy, back in the 1990s.

DK Jr is the DK from Donkey Kong Country. Same goes for Mario Tennis where Cranky is actually the tie-wearing DK in that game because Mario Tennis is a prequel.

Donkey Kong Senior (Cranky Kong), Donkey Kong JR, and Donkey Kong III ( Donkey Kong Country Donkey Kong) yes I don't believe he's Donkey Kong JR unlike everyone else it's heavily implied he's not and Jumpman isn't Mario and Luigi's father he's Mario Cranky Kong just ages faster cause he's an animal so the Donkey Kong in Mario games now is Donkey Kong III and Donkey Kong JR is forever forgotten (maybe deceased)

I didn't care about Donkey Kong Jr. I don't hate him per se, it's just that we have even better characters. The only time I remembered this character is playing Animal Crossing on GameCube. Nintendo doesn't use him much anymore and I can't blame them. We have Diddy Kong who not only looks better than Donkey Kong Jr., but is a reskin of Donkey Kong Jr. too. He gets more restricted appearances these days and for good reason. If I had to choose my favorite Donkey Kong Jr., it's his Game and Watch Gallery 4 appearance. I was never interested in Donkey Kong Jr. because his design was bland and lacked personality compared to Diddy Kong.
