How convenient the way they treat the animals for the plot. Ollie was the only one who was treated like a human because he can talk and his brothers were always seen as an animals except when they steal, if they dare to steal, the weight of the law will fall on them as if they were humans and they will be sentenced to slavery. So why is farmer John's first assumption, on waking up to find his animals and cropseed gone, that the animals stole it? Wouldn't it make more sense, even in a setting with sentient animals, that he'd been the victim of bandits who had taken his grain and the donkeys, to be used either for labor or meat? Look, here’s a little perspective on Kevin’s decision here. Kevin isn’t producing content for the Ben Shapiro Show. He’s not editing a Matt Walsh video. He’s making an apolitical children’s show, which is a part of a streaming service funded by The Daily Wire. If we are unironically at the point where you are not allowed to be even tangentially associated with a certain political party, we are at the point where conversation is wrong and agreeing to disagree is not permissible; the only alternative left is violence. That’s not a place we want to be, even if a lot of political activists on both sides secretly would love it. Secondly, I’m speaking as a former Ben Shapiro fan with a lot of problems with his show now. Yes, he is transphobic (although as a libertarian he’s ok with gay marriage). Yes, his aggressive style of discussion pretty much only serves to entertain people who already agree with him. But he was also the only guy right of center to call Donald Trump out on his bullshit, and yes he suffered for it. The reason the man has a 24-hour security detail isn’t due to ANTIFA, it’s cause a lot of white supremacists and Neo-Nazis want him dead for being Jewish and for speaking out against Trump. Honestly, that should be the hint his audience needs that maybe we have a Neo-Nazi problem in the US, but that’s a conversation for another day. The point is, he could do way worse. I’m much more concerned about Andrew Klavan’s pandering to the alt-right, or Steven Crowder unironically spreading conspiracy theories, or the many right-wing political hacks legitimately calling for bans on trans-affirming care and gay marriage and conflating being LGBTQ with being anti-American; not a guy calling things as he sees them, and refusing to pander to Trumpkins. That, and might I repeat he’s making an apolitical children’s show, not right-wing propaganda

Thank you for this, I did feel apprehensive when he announced it because I'm someone in a same-sex marriage and have heard a lot of hurtful things from that company. But I also agree with your points about nuance and across the isle interactions. I guess a good analogy would be a Netflix funded special or documentary, some of them are actually somewhat in opposition content wise but most people don't think twice about it.
