Camels, donkeys, cats, pigs, rats... Down Under's ecology hasn't been treated very well by humanity... Hearing your wife on the radio reminds me of watching her in previous videos keeping right up with you while chasing camels. Gotta love a tough, gutsy woman like her. She's 1 in a 1000......

@@jasoar1563actually you are slightly incorrect. It doesn't matter what class licence you are on in Western Australia, you aren't allowed to use semi automatic Centerfire rifles, at all. Under my PP licence I am not allowed to use my pistol outside of the yards. You could fix the issue with your dip sticks catching and sticking all the time if you ran a 4 inch sleeve down inside the tank with some holes drilled in it and then put a sealed 2 inch piece of PVC with caps on the end it would allow that Dipstick to slide more freely, and more straight up and down

Hi Jack, I'm an American, and I know you have some "interesting" regulations in Aussie Land. Question for you: could you run a pistol-caliber lever action? The upsides would be relatively high capacity in the magazine tube, and you would not have to worry about external magazines. I've found that with a satchel or pocket full of rounds I can keep a tube magazine loaded pretty easily. The rifle would not have the same energy as a .308, but if you're primarily taking neck and head shots a .357 mag in a lever gun might be a pretty handy tool. What say you?

You did watch the video in full eh?
@johnmead8437
@johnmead8437 4 күн бұрын
What is cost of strange calibres like .357 vs .308? What is the advantage of using a lower energy less penetration calibre? What is the advantage of a tube mag when a clip mag out & in as fast at that was read, while still struggling finding the hole in a tube? Or even getting the ammo out of the pocket. And spilt ammo etc. The clues so many have while demanding their rights to ready access to totally unsuitable firearms for standard use (culling MAGAits out of classrooms isn't an internationally endorsed right) are challenged by reality. Personal preference does require flexibility what is available. The lever-action mag option is one that seems superior (semi auto, not available there excepted) for this work, since target isn't lost each cycle, it's faster and the overall configuration seems an abomination for convenience, but lever action might not handle the volume.

Some more info. about wild donkey's, from the air donkey pads are straight line, cattle pads are wavy/curvy. The old saying "donkey ages" is because they can live a long time up to 40yrs, in outback probably 15yrs max, from the air they can be hard to spot because they stand still in the shade of a bush. The reason donkeys where used in the north of Aust. for haulage is because they can eat course grasses etc that horses can't, they are similar to camels in that they cant get by with limited water. Donkeys come in varying colours from faun, light grey, dark grey, brown and black, some have the black stripe. Donkey meat is good eating. What amasses me is the size of the jaw bone and large strong teeth. Expect the donkeys in the video have never seen man before that's why they stood around while being shot at, in beautiful condition. Donkeys are in scattered locations in remote areas of Western Australia, they can be hard to find, helicopter shooting has greatly reduced their numbers since 1980.

Hello, Subscriber here. Great job on the edit and cropping of footage. High definition ,direct to action and no music overlay. Very impressed. When FERAL pigeons are culled, INVASIVE Indian Myna birds abound.

@@johnmead8437 automatic rifles and machine guns have been restricted it seems forever here (only collectors and museums sort of thing). But semiautomatics for the most part were legal until PM J. Trudeau decided there was no reason for anyone to own a "military grade asault" rifle like the AR15. Mostly due to the shootings in Quebec at École Polytechnique. He was a student there so it effected him. Therefore all Canadians should pay by losing their private property that was legal until his decree telling us we don't need those scary looking rifles...so I'll just take them...but not your hunting guns. Just recently some 22lr rifles were added to the list of scary guns. What will be next ALL semi-auto firearms? Just my opinion...for what it's worth, which along with a few loonies will get you a doubl-double at Tim's.

How awesome are those Platatac CUTS shirts though? I didn't believe how cool they were until I bought one on sale. Wish they made them in Hi Vis.

Same! I have had a chat to them about it, but unfortunately it wasn't going to be viable for them. They've looked at it before.

We use donkeys all the time over here for animal protection. Once they bond with their chickens, or lambs or whatever, they will protect them from dingoes, foxes, wild dogs etc. Much less maintenance than those big white woolly dogs they use in Europe. If it were not so remote where he is, these could be caught and sold on as stock protection animals. They are very intelligent and adapt well.

@philipsutton2316 Yes I agree but doubt if there are enough farms in the world to take even a small percentage of them. They are a real problem when feral, like anything else.

Why do you shoot offhand with a pump hammergun? You would get better hits with a 10 shot bolt action. The bullet is out of the barrel on a Tikka T3 before the hammer has hit the fireing pin on the pump.
