when i first started getting into jazz a great jazz musician told me to learn donna lee. it took me too long to come around, but once i did it gave me a proper appreciation for bird, and basically set me on the path to really being able to play a little.

Truly remarkable. I can’t imagine how long this took to transcribe, learn and play to that level. Very impressive and enjoyable.

One of the beautiful things about Charlie Parker is that his music translates very well on the guitar. You clearly demonstrate this. Great job! Very inspiring! I’m going to pick up my guitar…right this minute to start a great day!

My first bird solo was blues for Alice and I barely made it through that check out the video on my channel.. I thought that would be the last bird thing I touch being it was hard to learn what I did by ear alone… it was a really good start for me and like a birds whistle, another song by Charlie comes along with sounds that’s make you have to at least try, now I’m trying to do this one in full… I’ve been doing it for the last 4 hours and only made it to 7 seconds. This video is insanely good

Brilliant playing and transcription. One correction: last 2 quavers of bar 44: you're playing the correct notes but the score should read e to f (13 on 4th string moving to 10 on 3rd string). David

Why not write it in the correct octave for guitar (8va), i.e. the way you're actually playing it?
@federicodominici245 Жыл бұрын
Because I wanted to write it with the actual pitches that are played on the record…
@Hijodenels Жыл бұрын
@@federicodominici245 That's okay but since you mentioned guitar specifically I expected the part to be written for in correct octave for guitar. It'd be like saying "full transcription for Trumpet" and then not transposing the part to Bb. No worries, though, just means guitarists have to transpose up an octave. 😃😃
@BHAKTIBROPHY Жыл бұрын
@@federicodominici245 Thanks for doing it the way you did; makes much more sense considering the instruments you were transcribing. Plus, anyone who can read will know where the notes are in 8va... it's not like they're different notes, just an octave higher. Thank you for sharing this. And your playing... my goodness!! 😂🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Bravo!!
