I was born in Denison, lived in Vail. My entire family has loved Donna always. She's my favorite too. I have had the opportunity to be in touch with Patty Petersen and Wm Paul Petersen. They're both so Great and Kind Also. I will be in Denison Memorial Day as I get up there as much as I can. I always think of Donna Reed and what a Wonderful Woman she was.

Donna was one of those stars that just had IT. She was beautiful and sweet faced but also sharp and really talented. Those qualities are almost non existent with today's stars, at least a good amount of them. She was just watchable and people would watch a show or movie she was in just because she was in it. That rare quality of star that owns the camera and can get people to watch anything they're in just because of their presence she shared along with the likes of Jimmy Stewart, Denzel Washington, James Garner, Robert Urich, Betty White, Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Bill Cosby, Angela Lansbury and Sidney Poitier. That it factor is what makes someone a true star.

One of my all-time favorite TV moms. Donna Reed and Father Knows Best's Jane Wyatt are my top two. They were beautiful, authoritative (when they had to be), and sweet. It's a pity that TV moms are not cut from that kind of cloth these days. While they didn't represent every mother in every way, at least they gave us impressions that was mostly favorable and extended our memories, not lessen them.
@kendallrivers11192 ай бұрын
Don't forget Claire Huxtable who brought those qualities those two tv moms had to the 1980s and of course the iconic June Cleaver.

My Grandmas Cousin. My Gma grew up on a Farm in Iowa too but when the Depression hit hard instead of being sent to Hollywood...she was sent to be a live-in-maid at 8! Sad even though they taught her a lot and were kind. She was very Pretty and very Perfectionistic too!

One of the most iconic tv moms ever along with June Cleaver, Claire Huxtable, Margaret Anderson, Marion Cunnigham, Morticia Addams, Lily Munster and Florida Evans. She was also unbelievably beautiful and wholesome. Women in the modern age seem to lack that natural beauty, femininity and glamour alot of women back then just embodied.

My Mom dated Donna's brother for awhile. Bill? Maybe? My Mom was from Harlan which is about 30 miles south of Denison. I'm not sure how they met but my Mom has a lot of fun telling the story of how she was at the Mullenger house one day when Donna was actually on the phone from Hollywood and talking to the family. She didn't talk to her but that was a big deal. This would have been in the 40's.
