You are soooo talented. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing it, it’s the innate ability you have. I am amazed at how you know so easily one triangle from another. Math was never my strong suit.

That is absolutely gorgeous! And that little gap in the middle is the perfect size for a tiny CZ or gem. Thank you for bowing how to make a beautiful, planned (ish) picture kaleidoscope cane. I’ve looked through dozens of videos & they’re very hard to find as most people seem to rely on the serendipitous effect of combining a bunch of random canes.

random tends not to work for me, allison so i have to do a bit of planning! hugs, d

You are a true artist. I'm not great with canes but that's lack of practise so I'm really eager now to try the Kaleidescope cane. Thanks for the motivation.

These canes are absolutely stunning! Your experience and patience with the clay always shows through in your designs and attention to detail. I am going to 'try' this one day when I am feeling adventurous... but oh my goodness, I love the idea of making a planned kalidescope cane like this. Plus, I am definitely going to have to get a rubber mat because it always drives me nuts when my tile clicks on my work surface and I was just thinking about what I could use today, perfect timing, thank you for answering my question you didn't even know was asked, lol. 🙂

Beautiful. I love the tip of making an image on a triangle first. I get so frustrated when I make a kaleidoscope cane and it doesn’t come out like I in visioned. I have a couple of mirrors taped to together and once I make one section I’ll be able to see it with several sections. I have so many canes to play with. I think your dragonfly looks like. blue honeysuckle if one exists. Again beautiful

It may be possible to mix glaze with traditional white clay intended to be fired in a kiln. This would cause the clay to be different colors. I have never seen it done before. Usually, glaze is painted on the surface. Perhaps, we can mix colored glazes with white clay to make colored clays. Instead of using polymer clays can use older traditional clay. I beleive soft serve ice cream used a white clay thickener for many years. Could purchase white clay thickener for soft serve ice cream, mix it with glaze, and fire pieces created from colored clay in a kiln. Glaze Co tains silicon oxide (glass or quartz). The molten glaze, or glass, would stick to the kiln shelf. We must put a small glaze free waffer or dust on the shelf to prevent sticking. Use an angle grinder after the piece has solidified and cooled in order to remove the spacer from the bottom of the kiln fired piece.

Hi Samuel! Not sure about mixing these media but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something there. Polymer cures at 300 and below whole ceramics fire at thousand(s)? Something to think about, definitely! 😊❤️

How do you get your clay to keep so neat & long? Do you use some kind of tool? Yours looks better than great! I love your work.
