A one level fusion needs 4 screws and 2 rods. This can be done open or minimally invasive!

I LOVE you for taking the time to explain all the problems of the spine. I had back surgery in my thirties that was done completely wrong. No metal. But Now my bone is slide and severe arthritis. Uugghhhh. Paaaaiiinnn. Help Dr. Donnelly😊L5S1. need artificial disc probably can not have anesthesia. (bad reaction). Awake it is! Lol. Told my neck needs fused too. Jeez. Some of us have Health that Sucks.

I had 2 rods and 8 screws in my spine, after a car accident in 2012. So far, no problems, but discomfort (not excruciating) in my back actually lasted for a few years, but I actually put it down to stress, as I had just qualified & ready to set up my gas and plumbing business & was off work 7 months, but stressful long after.

Nope… fixed straight… mine are lumbar -sacrum…. No bend….but my pain wasn’t my actual back… it was nerve down my right leg…. Had several and the fusion eased it by 80%…. I’m 15 yrs out…

@DonnallySpineConsult I can still walk & talk. Dr. Marc Lapp of Lowell MA fixed my spine. He teaches at Tufts in Boston. He did a miraculous job fusing T1-T12 from the back. 1st surgeon wanted costotransversectomy w/out added hardware. Lapp said, "Nope, I'll do that surgery from the back & you'll get to keep your ribs."

Sir, I am from India. I had L1 brust fracture in Sept 2020 and gone under spine surgery with pedicel screw fixation from T12 to L3. At the same incident had mild displaced fracture in right sacrum. Now I am having difficulty in walking( no strength in calf n toes) bilateral partial foot drop,Bladder bowel incontinence. Hey, just a question on what I should avoid doing with this hardware in my back, I ended up breaking my back from a car accident but that’s besides the point, I’ve been scared for the past 2 years to do certain things I used to like a handstand for example lol, my question is, should I avoid doing stuff like that, that causes a lot of stress to my back?
