Good to finally be able to watch your videos again! The song talks about how girls dont need to have someone else, more so a man, to buy stuff for them. I agree with Albert that it is both empowering and materialistic. The message of the song is good but it can easily be garbled behind all the materialistic display. I also agree that children can easily misconstrue what the song is about considering that the theme requires a bit of maturity to understand. You guys were able to highlight both positive and not-so-positive sides of the material. Overall, I think its a very good review. Kudos and more power to the both of you! PS. Where's sookie? hahaha

Okay. Donnalyn may experienced men showing off their wealth thinking that they can buy her just because they are rich. This song literally explains that she just wants true love regardless of status and wealth. “I can buy my own rolly, You just gotta roll with me” (You don’t have to buy her Rolex because she can buy that on her own. All you have to do is love her and be there for her.) “hindi ko kailangan mamahaling hikaw Sakin lang naman kailangan ko lang ikaw Maging kamukha mo man si imaw” (You don’t have to buy her expensive earrings, she just need you regardless of how you look like) “Di mo yata kilala, ba't sila pumipila? Don't need your wallet, di magpapabili ng gamit But uhh I can buy it pati yon And a hundred more Loui Vuittons Kaya you don't need to go broke para makipagOn” (You don’t have to spend all your money just to impress her because being with you is what makes her happy, not the gifts you are planning to buy for her) Flaunting baby, to show all I want from you is to be your baby (I think you understand this, right?) “Buy me buy me buy me Gucci Gucci Gucci You'll get the same reaction When you buy me buchi buchi” (You can buy her Gucci, but you’ll get the same reaction if you’ll buy her buchi. Buchi is Sesame Ball, it a type of fried Chinese pastry made from glutinous rice flour.) “Can go to Paris, pero oks na siya sa pares” (You both can go to Paris, but she’s okay if you’ll just buy her pares. Pares is beef stew, and usually sold in streets around 30 Philippine Peso or 0.60 in US Dollars) Edit: I’m a long time subscriber to your channel because of Morissette. I’m not a Donnalyn fan. Plus, like you said, this is my opinion because I understand the lyrics and didn’t focus on the designer items on the music video.

NO hate for the couple but I love ate Donna so much that's why I'm explaining it. if you watched her (BTS of her songs and vlog)you will all see how she works hard and she's not the type of person who always likes to flex and for this video shows us how women don't need money from a man because she can have it on her own. Heads up, know the artists first before saying this is all materialistic. This song has deep meaning for Donna she's putting off some issues that soc med had for her like those Sugar daddy applications issue, a billionaire ex, and a nasty powerful man who courted her. Those things were seriously traumatizing for her there were hidden and unrevealed comments that sexualized her in that fb post that poser acc in the sugar daddies application issue, and for the lewd douche who courted her when she just started few years in the entertainment industry. THE SONG HAS MESSAGE. Atleast KNOW HER meaning and message for that song. I get that you just look and reacted to the visuals and literal meaning of the song but why did you even react to this w/o knowing why it's going viral? This song is not like those songs who people can relate and sing it for themselves, although it can maybe but SHE MADE THIS SONG FOR HER. Sorry if I had to say something like this, I honestly don't wanna be THAT person but hey look atleast we've expressed both our opinions. Edit: The English Translation isn't that accurate, there's song Filipino slangs she used that isn't understandable to international viewers.The slangs used somehow has double meaning.

For me as a teenager, this MV inspires me in the way that Donna reminds us that we have to work hard and be determined in life to get what we want to achieve and not rely on someone to give us everything. We need to prove that we are not like others who are just waiting to be given a need. We need to learn to stand on our own feet for our dreams, and the music video just shows that she doesn't need someone to buy him stuff because she can buy it herself. What's important is that he loves her it's all that matters. Add that she is happy even with simple things; even the cheapest street food is okay with her. Important thing is that they are together. That's how strong, independent women we should be. Isn't it amazing if you could afford everything you want without asking for your parents money. I take it personally as a motivation to keep working hard and be able to buy things on my own, support studies and even pay back to my parents. No hate, just love 🤍✨

To all fans, I think what they meant is that a women can be successful even without all these brands and materialistic things. Let's be honest, Not everyone can afford these and if those things indicate social status. What happens to the mothers who can't afford these but was able to give 10 sons a bachelor's by selling peanuts on the streets. That's what they meant was dangerous, you don't need materialistic things to be successful. And yes the meaning of the song is to empower women to not need these materialistic things and just to have someone be there. However the song can be interpreted very differently depending on who listens to it. Children can misinterpret it that social status/for someone to love you = 10 rollies. But never the less the song is good.

Donnalyn is one of the most admired artist and social media influencer in the Filipino Industry and just like all the other meaningful songs she produced, her goal with omo is to inspire and highlight independence and empowerment among women, mostly to all Filipino Women. As you can see, she didn't make it an all-English song just for the mv to be internationally recognized. For you guys who replied 'not sure if you saw the same video we did' to someone who was just clearly pointing out what you had possibly misunderstood and couldn't fully comprehend about the song is pretty dumb as these viewers who commented almost the same thing knows very well that the composition of the song includes several words of our mother tongue including tagalog slang phrases that cannot be completely translated into an english word with the exact same meaning. Indeed her Filo fans are so so happy and proud for the amount of recognition donna receives rn and I do agree on other insight that refers to the song's negative side but seeing reactions like this specially from foreigners like you who blatantly oppose to locals who are actually trying to explain points that might help you understand the song better considering that we do understand our own language better than you and instead say that there were 'captions' that explained what you didn't understand and stubbornly stick to those and to what you saw in the video, then claim that you were just being 'honest' and 'unbiased' is kind of provoking :)

When it comes to videos like these, what we do with our channel is provide an off-the-cuff reaction to the complete presentation of whatever we saw. We absolutely understood the meaning of the video, and even commented about how it was empowering, but the reality is that 80% of communication is non-verbal; and the empowering feeling of the lyrics and song felt completely overpowered by the blatant display of all the luxury and designer items in the video. While we are certain that Donnalyn is a great person, we felt the video was materialistic. And we absolutely were being honest. The opposite would have been to just say we loved it and left it at that. We purposefully do not research what we watch before we watch it so our reactions are as authentic as possible and this video is perfect proof of that. Subtitles were on and we understood the message. We even commented about how the song was empowering. It just felt like the video overshadowed that. We like your take on the flaunting but we’ve noticed in most cases it leads to people making reckless decisions with money and buying materialistic items with their savings instead of investing it. So while few may rise to the top, most will get sucked into a trap. Keep that in consideration as well. Appreciate the feedback

You should’ve watched the MV with english subtitles to understand fully what’s behind it.. Don’t judge the book by its cover as they say..

“Flaunting to you baby, so that I can show you that all i want is to be your baby” Yes the example is being realistic. But the song has deeper meaning, i think u missed it. It just implies that you don’t need to impress girls through buying stuffs because this type of girl has money on her own. She just need your genuine love. More power to you both.

I don't know if it's just me, but I think they misunderstood the MV because they watched it without the caption/translation on. Regardless, at least they dare to voice out their opinion with all honesty. I just hope they rewatch this, but with subs next time 😅

Umm did you not hear what they said? They had the subtitles on. They don’t just comment on things they don’t understand.
@clydecruz49723 жыл бұрын
these reactors only see the materialistic side of the video not the message of the video..this is not all about flaunting and designer brands. if you really understood the lyrics she said she all she needs is the man's love not any material things coz she already got those. all you have to do is to love her even if you dont gor anything. Its also about woman empowerment.

i actually admire how honest you guys are about reacting to this song! to be honest i do see where the materialistic pov comes in. it’s not normal for us human beings to have all those “designer” luxury items & all… thank you for your honesty! not all reviews or reactions are supposed to be sugarcoated so i really admire your opinions and not being afraid to share your thoughts! :)

The video is actually about true love.. That's why she is showing a lot of money because it means that she didn't want the boys money because she can buy her own.. all he want is a true love not money.. I can understand that because I'm a Filipino..

The message of the song is she needs a man who will really love her. She dont need a man who will buy her anything because she can afford it to buy it on her own. 😊 If you will deeply study the language, you'll understand better. 😊

They forgot to read the title(on my own) of the song. We Filipinos don't care about the music vids, for me it's just an advertisement of the song(how to promote the song or album. I focus on the lyrics/message of the song and how I see in that situation/scenario. So how to learn and understand it better.
@stefanymoncano27253 жыл бұрын
Please use subtitles so that you can understand it well cause the song said she can afford it by her own money she will not use the money of any man or a billionaire cause she can buy it buy herself

i disagree with u guys,u didn’t understand it.i’m a eurasian half filipino descent spanish and the message of the music video is she just want you not because of money or anything but just you so that’s why she didn’t want to beg for something cause she can afford it.so it’s all about how she wants guy without begging for anything but just a real love

@@I_am_a_cat_ Good to see you here. Sorry that you have such negative feelings about reaction and review channels. There are a lot of technical factors that go into building a successful one but we wouldn't expect you to know that because you're the type of person who probably hasn't accomplished anything that is actually noteworthy and instead spends their time talking shit on KZbin. We feel sorry for you and will now be giving you a time-out but we sincerely hope that you find peace or happiness in your endeavors, or just grow up since you sound like you're 12.

I'm not that rich to buy everything I want on my own. Imagine when you are earning just an average rate or maybe below average and someone buys you a car? How would you feel? For me, I would actually feel uncormfortable, unrespected and belittled. The point there is not everything about money.

I don't know why using branded things make you look materialistic, why is that?.. you buy things because you want it. And most of the caise you need it not just to show off... Her(people) buying things (branded or not) with their own money is an achievement. Shes shouting how woman can be independent. (Not my parent money ,not even from my honey)
