I stopped watching regulr TV about 3 years ago. I hated the cutting they made, then recycled material, and always before and after advertising they did a what's to come, and what has happened :P ... like they thought everyone was idiots watching .... with YT and the like, there's no such stuff, not treating their viewers like braindead zombies ...

I am super impressed, The conveyor came out better than I thought. The whole set up is very nice and well thought out. Looks like one can process a lot with less back ache! The crates will make it easy to move and allow for much better airflow to dry out the wood, While keeping it dry from ground contact. Since these crates are stack able. Even your small skid steer should be able to double stack them in nice rows. If you keep with the IBC totes this will work well. It really depends on if you can collect enough of them at a cheap enough price.
@DonnDIY4 жыл бұрын
Yup, I got a bunch of them for reasonable price and all of my firewood is in them now. I really love this setup.

Fantastic final ending Donn!! Your engineering skills are awesome. I had my doubts about the electric splitter but I was wrong. Happy holidays to you and your family. They should be proud of you and your work ethic...
@Alan_Hans__4 жыл бұрын
Brilliant work. When watching I saw that gap at the bottom of the conveyor and immediately thought that it needs blocking. I've used exactly the same many years ago and plan on trying 2 straw broom type brushes spaced slightly apart. The first would be right at the base of the conveyor and would brush the belt. The second would be about an inch or so further up the conveyor and would be set so that they just brushed the top of the angle iron cleats. I found that the style you used tends to flick the wood and they will often miss being picked up on the cleat. It's possibly no going to be as big a problem for you as it was for me as I was having about a wheelbarrow load of wood dropping onto the conveyor about every 10s.
@DonnDIY4 жыл бұрын
The need for brushing the belt is something I have to address in the future, otherwise the bottom roller will wrap stuff around it.

excellent on your end rollers, looks like your piece of belt came from the edge of a larger belt, that would make it extra hard to have it track properly, a little crown makes all the difference, starting with a little electric splitter and turning it into a high production machine, great job.

I like the idea of the convex shape of the rollers. One thought is to make sure the row of bolts down the middle of the belt are exactly centered, then machine a small groove in the roller. Not only will this give clearance for the bolt heads, but tends to keep the belt centered as they pass.
