with the fan where it is at it might blow the engine heat at you or it may pull the air ,, could be a hot ride ? i don't know what way your fan is going .. looks like a great ride ,,seen on other shows they cut the extra wires they did not want and would not start ,, they had to add a box that wires pluged into that they thought they did not need me i would test before i cut extra wires off .. keep up the great builds .. just wish we could get a friday video 2 times a week lol ...

@@randytravis3998 I’m pretty sure that when he pulled the rad out of the donor vehicle the fan was on the engine side of the rad so in this orientation it will pull the heat away from him. I think he’ll also be closing the engine in to keep himself safe from all the moving bits.

Haven’t heard a Pret-ty Good in a long time but this build certainly is looking Pret-ty Good. You can never become “too attached” to your CNC Plasma cutter but the time you save with it compared to the old beastly grinder method is valuable time to spend with what matters more than a machine. I like this suggestion too. If the exhaust is low and it gets submerged in water the engine will lose a lot of power. Probably would still have plenty of power with all the gear reduction but why lose any?! :-)

A quick way to remove a lot of the dross is to throw your parts hard onto a flat surface such as the floor. It's best if they land fairly flat. The vibration and shock knocks off most of the dross.

I really enjoy watching this build. Some comments .... is power steering necessary? Surely the extra complexity and space needed is not worth it for a light weight vehicle? If the power steering was dropped, the pump could be used for hydraulic power, or the space used for a more powerful hydraulic pump. Also make more use of captive nuts, much easier for maintenance :)

Suggestion for you. Instead of using two bolts on the pump attachment, use one long bolt with a spacer between the mounts to hold their positions. It makes it a lot easier to adjust the belt tension and remove or re-install the pump if need be.
@Tom_Plumb_PHS3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking pioe/tube in between two inner plates and weld a nut on the outside. Just have to crack the bolt loose then to adjust it one handed.

Great fabrication, I just get so absorbed watching you work. The power steering pump mount on the point where the pump attaches it would be better if you run one long bolt through both mounts with a crush tube in between it will make your adjustment so much easier to do as you will only have to tighten the fixings once....you could even go to a captive nut on one end to make it even simpler. Captive nuts would also be a good idea on the frame you've made for the radiator it will make life much simpler in the future when ....no if's here.....you come to take it apart. Can I also ask a favour is it possible you could film a 360 degree shot of your workshop so we can see how you arrange it...sorry for being nosey but I really am interested. TTFN Phil.
