@Justin Chavez Yeah man I swear to god I always mention that line when we're reminiscing bout the Rick James episode and hardly anyone ever remembers that part. Idk what it is, it is a more insignificant part, but the way he says that line and his body language or something ALWAYS makes me laugh at threatening to kick Rick James out a window. SECUUUUURITY!!!!!!!!!

I met him once in a barbershop. He was just as funny in person as on TV. He wasn’t acting…what you saw on TV was the real guy. I didn’t even know who it was that came in and dapped everybody sitting and waiting for a haircut. He treated us all like he knew us….there was no Hollywood attitude going on. He was genuinely a nice guy.

My wife talked me into it and dude looked rough but it was the funniest stand ups I’ve seen live. Not at all like I thought it was gonna be. Didn’t even talk about the chapelle show or his brother or anything. I’ll never forget that night as he was done he came around and talked to everyone!!! Such a cool dude. Donnell getting Charlie on a stage still stands as one of the better things to happen in this world. The mark of comic genius is recognizing when someone is funny, then helping them get to the place where they can shine.

I was in high school when chapelle show came out and I knew who Eddie Murphy was. I am so grateful to see and learn about Charlie Murphy. Hilarious and legit tough guy. Also a salty navy man. Big loss RIP

When I think of Charlie Murphy now, it's Eddie doing the impression of Charlie talking about a teacher, Miss Jenkins. "If I was walkin' down the street and I saw Miss Jenkins now, I'd punch her in the face." RIP Charlie Murphy.

Charlie was the the most fun, you know there where times where he made me feel like a brother that was in the background, his love for life and his love for his brother really struck a chord. He is and always will be the coolest of brothers. Always love your brother, this person is your greatest champion. A brother's love is like having a Hero that puts you on a pedestal. God Bless Charlie Murphy

We've all seen plenty of celebrity passings over the last decade, but I remember Charlie's vividly. I was in a meeting at work at a notification popped up on a buddy's phone. He didn't say one word, just turned to me with a ghost white face and showed me the screen. I couldn't believe it. If anyone out there wants to know more of Charlie's story, definitely pick up his book "Making of a Stand-Up Guy". Rest in peace, Charlie. We miss you.

One of my biggest regrets is not getting to see Charlie Murphy. I teared up when I heard he passed and that is not something I do for just anyone. I always thought he would be a cool guy to meet and he seemed to be really grounded and genuine. Not many people could do and see the things he did and stay grounded.
