I hate it when tmnt writers give one of the boys a crush on April; it always feels so awkward and forced. Yet in this version where there's no romantic subplot between Donnie and April, they have such an endearing friendship, one where an eventual romance in their later years would feel much more natural.

Yeah, if they bring back the 13 episodes remainder of S2 and a S3-S7, there needs to be one episode that explains how the turtles met, given how Leo is basically a free spirit like Sonic, she prob saw Leo and followed him to the sewers and at first sight is freaked out by the fact that there is a giant rat and 4 turtles all acting like humans but begin to realize that they’re friendly.

YEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!! 💛💜 I've been waiting for a compilation like this to be made, finally! These two have the best dynamic - platonic or romantic, though in my opinion, they've got big "end game" vibes and I would love to see their relationship explored more. Some additional note-worthy moments I've noticed: - Don carrying April on his back in the Warren and Hypno episode - Don presenting April with the severed Warren arm (same episode) - April sticking by Donnie's side the whole time he's inside Splinter's memories - Donnie saying April's name (very sweetly) when they're freed from Big Mama's orb - Donnie saying "for you, anything" to her in War and Pizza, and then repeating the "for you" later in Donnie vs Witch Town - The two of them just generally hugging/touching/holding each other a lot in Sunshine of a Spotless Mind - Donnie carrying April's bat inside of his tech bo and throwing it to her in Battle Nexus: NY (I love the implication that he carries it around for her all, or at least most, of the time) - Don looking SO proud of April after she wins the karate match (with the most "that's my girl" look I've ever seen on his face ever) - Donnie running to April's side after she's thrown in the movie - April leaning on Donnie's shoulder at the end of the movie ...I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones I could recall off the top of my head, lol.

Personally, I don't ship them, because I love seeing guys and girls just being platonic besties. That, and the crew mentioned that if they were to hypothetically give the brothers a romance, it would be with another mutant or a yokai. But I'll concede that they have a good amount of chemistry, should the show ever continue and the crew change their stance on romance. They had way more chemistry than 2012 Apriltello, that's for sure.

(Wanted to comment this here too, I had this as a response to someone and thought it’s important for others who don’t like this ship to know): --- ​​⁠the creators did not confirm that they are siblings. They are NOT. April is the groups best friend and she is close to them LIKE A SISTER. It does not mean they are related lmFAO The point the creators were trying to make is that in previous iterations of TMNT April was always so surface level and used as nothing but a love interest, and in this version they really wanted April to have more personality and be an important friend and team member to the turtles. They even stated that they CAN SEE WHY people ship April with Donnie in ROTTMNT, so y’all gotta stop acting like the creators are against this ship LMAO Like my best friend I’ve known him for 10 years now and he is like a brother to me IN THE SENSE that he knows me so well and we bond and tease eachother the way siblings do. And that I am much closer to him than I am to my other “close” friends. But there was a point in my life when I used to have a crush on him LOL and there were times ppl would think we would date but that ain’t happening Point is, if people want to ship these FICTIONAL friends, just MOVE ON if it’s not something you like. It got cancelled in 2019/20 and had a movie in 2022. People have really wanted a third season but it looks like Mutant Mayhem is getting that instead. Shame really because this series was really fun.
