I've had the personal headcanon for a while that Donnie is the second strongest behind Raph, ever since he took that barbell weight and THREW it one armed during the Train Raid episode in the season finale. Those things are HEAVY and he threw it no problem like a Discus athlete Not to mention he's built noticably wider than Leo, who's closest in physical appearance to him. Leo is more the blitzer, he's quick and agile, and looks like he could be built for speed. Donnie's got his moments where he appears weak but that could be said for all of them, it seems pretty in character for him to pretend to be as strong (or weak) as would be beneficial ATM 😆

Donnie being taught something like ASL as a young turtle would make total sense as a form of speech therapy while giving him a communication system to use as he learned

He’s honestly my favorite turtle in this Tmnt version. He’s a super relatable character with very relatable qualities. His deadpanned “Lord help me I’m surrounded by idiots” personality is really relatable and hilarious to watch. Also one of my favorite thing about his character is his representation of autism. It’s shown really nicely in this series imo. Also I think him being on the autism spectrum is a great addition to his character given his high IQ and intellect (cool fun fact but a lot people with autism sometimes have genius level abilities in certain or all areas, wether it’s math, science, English. Obviously doesn’t apply to every and all people on the autism spectrum, but it’s seen in a good amount of people with it.)

I love that the writers confirmed Donnie to be autistic. I'm autistic myself, and when I say that Donnie represents me, where I came from, and how I came to be as the person I am today, I really mean it. I'm more into physical affection than Donnie is, but in other cases, my sensory quirks really are there. Learning Donnie was confirmed to be autistic is what got me into Rise, and TMNT as a whole, in the first place, and the representation means so much to me. They made it out more realistic yet positive than I've seen in most other shows and movies. And y'know, since I got into Rise, I've felt a lot more freedom to be myself and cut out those who give me crap because I'm autistic (including relatives). I've never felt more free to be myself and really embrace the real me ever before. So, Donnie's character, his freedom to be himself, being appreciated for who he is (not just how he's different), and his critical role in the team and show mean so much to me. The representation is EVERYTHING. I actually feel like I'm not alone in the world.
