When this song first aired on the radio i was working my first job as a gas station clerk and going through my pot smoking phase..ahh what a grand time.

I listened to this on the way back from a high school basketball game. We played a team from out of town and had to travel to their gym. For the life of me, I can't remember the score or even the outcome of the game, but I sure do remember this song.

Dave Wollenberg, I did find the song my girl by Donnie Iris uploaded on youtube to find out when it made the top 40 pop charts in 1982.

What's really weird, my radio station here in Cleveland would end the song before the fade out...the song would end "Love is like a" and then cut off entirely. I always thought it was the actual track, because it would make a hell of a lot of sense. Love is a complete mystery. =)

One of my fave Donnie cuts. My fave is the album cut... "Glad All Over... from High & The Mighty. If you haven't heard it... check it out. It rocks da house.

Song that had the unfortunate luck of being caught up in a series of sweeping changes with New York radio in 1981-'82 where WABC (the longtime kingpin) was softening its format ahead of an eventual change to a talk format, WNBC had as I remember a program director (referred to as "Kenny" in Howard Stern's "Private Parts") who was quite conservative and no true Top 40 station in New York until WHTZ-FM (Z100 at 100.3) debuted in August 1983.

Song I would definitely use to end an episode of a '90s version of "Mad Men."
