What a performance! Absolutely nailed his delivery. The fact that he flipped the odds completely shows that people are starting to get it. He's not pandering to the crowd with a flashy show, lack of trousers, or other novelties, he's simply a person with a microphone singing a message for everyone of us who has ever felt unheard. It grows on you and resonates deeper the more you reflect on the lyrics; it's not a depressing song; it's an inspirational one, to love yourself and be a better person for it. I'm hoping that by Saturday people will be singing along to it, like I am, even when I'm just at work or cooking dinner.

Listening to this again today, and it never fails to bring me to tears. Imagine going on stage, knowing the bookmakers think you'll never make it. You know you're in the last place, and that chances for making it are low according to odds. He must have been so nervous and sad, because he has truly been underappreciated. And STILL he delivered his performance with excellence. I just want to give him a huge hug, because he truly deserves to be there. Finally, people proved that true artists CAN make it in Eurovision. This performance is what art is.

Me too! I think it was the emotional delivery! He felt almost "too perfect" or slick before this. Seeing his emotions at the end, but also singing to the cameras more, while still being his poised self, a very good mix. It was very authentic and powerful. I think not having that many male ballads this year helped him. And Mustii being off key/pitch/tempo (which broke my heart). And that bridge in Don's song. Wow. @@VladaPa Barely. At least in Italy, which leaked their votes and Dons got 1 point. His song is great, however, it's not as "Latvian-spirited" as Sudden Lights was last year. It's somewhat sad that, to attract an average European listener (or a watcher - because, sadly, Eurovision is a show and not a song competition), we have to give up our identity and create something closer to a radio hit than a sentimental, introverted, rocky song that would present Latvian identity better. So, it's a bit ironic - we had to become a bit more shallow to get through - exactly the thing that Dons is complaining about in his song 😀

I am not a Eurovision fan but I must admit - this guy and Israel singer was only who where singing song and not jumping around, screaming, shaking naked ass in tiny underwear and etc. In few words - he had something what Eurovision lost long time ago!
