Try walking backwards when you're edging. I get a way better edge and more control. My wife go me a blower for fathers day. Great wives. Cheers

Ive one of their touch start models from 2010. No telling how many hours are on it. It gets used for about an hour minimum per week on the string trimmer attachment and has done countless hours as a pole saw too. Still has yet to bite the dust. And still has more than enough compression. The cylinder hasnt any scores yet but I'll keep running it til that day comes. I also have a 1998 partner colibri strimmer for the light and delicate work around flowers. Back to the ryobi, it has never given me issues. If it did i would say it openly

I picked one of these up used for free. It runs great; has plenty of power. But it vibrates worse than any weed eater that I have ever owned. Hands tingle for about an half hour after using it. Have you experienced this? I was surprised because the full crank model is supposed to reduce vibration since it has 2 crank bearings vs. one on some other Ryobi's.
@donslawns13 жыл бұрын
@@jjparody8257 doesn’t usually make my hands tingle, but it has happened a couple times- not sure if it was the gas mix?

Not bad man I'm a landscaper when you learn really well how to use a gas trimmer try the echo srm225 its $219.00 at homedepot its $100 more then the ryobi but believe me way worth it that trimmer will last you a lifetime cuz us commercial guys we can get 8 to10 years out of them or more and we use them daily.
@donslawns14 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard great things about the echo product line! Thanks for the advice!!
@set3777 Жыл бұрын
Why? Echo SM-225 is ONLY 21.2cc and Cutting Swath (in.) is only 17" This Ryobi is 25.4cc and Cutting Swath (in.) 18" YET the Sm225 cost $100 more and is not "Expand-it" attachments compatible.
@victorrippe5845 Жыл бұрын
@@set3777 The Echo Srm225 is a commercial unit that can handle commercial abuse a lot of Landscapers use them and they last a Ryobi Trimmer won’t last 3 months in heavy commercial use like a Echo Srm225 guaranteed talking from over 30 years of exp
@set3777 Жыл бұрын
@@victorrippe5845 I know that. but you should recommend a higher Echo model that has the same power and similar features as the Ryobi. HP = cc/15 so the SM225 you recommend is about 20% less powerful as the Ryobi.
@victorrippe5845 Жыл бұрын
@@set3777 I recommend all Echo trimmers since we are just talking of the Srm225 that’s why I didn’t recommend all more exp models but for me Ryobi is garbage

You know you didn't have to turn it over to trim, just twist the shaft and lock in place. I found out later on this with mine.

I've got an old 1990s homelite string trimmer that is great for light work like in a subdivision. I went out to help my mom on the farm with a area that hadn't been touched in two months and tried her Redmax. The Redmax is a beast so I've been shopping. Thanks for your review.

@DIYDad15 жыл бұрын
I dont care that the industry is going towards battery powered everything. For tools like this gas is king and battery doesn't have the longevity or long term reliability record of 2 stroke. Electronics fail, motors burn out. I just gave away my old Ryobi 4 stroke trimmer to my neighbor. I bought it new in 2002 and it still runs! Replaced it with a 2 stroke echo that I just did a review on. Man is that thing awesome. I'm sure you'll get many years of service out of this thing if you keep up on regular maintenance and run quality premium ethanol free gas in it! Use some premium oil too.
