These extremists are such bigots and hypocrites. Ignore them as best you guys can. Great video as well, predators are a big part of life, and they keep ecosystems functioning. All animals are beautiful.

Yeah man in nature there is somthing called limiting factor which is a factor that keeps everything from going out of control that factors are predators now those same extremis are for nature but think about it if your for nature then they should have no problem with that fact that there are animals that need to survive which is why i totally agree with you

Is this nature tho? Holding a lizard so that your dragon as a chance at catching it inside a glass "house" its nature ? I keep reptiles myself and feed them live insects and when snakes stop eating frozen have to feed them live, I dont like it but its my responsability as a owner to keep my pet alive and well.. but bearded dragons dont have any problem eating insects, so youre going outta of your way to feed them other animals instead of animals we know that cant feel pain, the lizard wins nothing with this (only parasites in many cases of using feeder anoles) and I rly cant understand how someone can love a pet lizard but feed them other lizards, fine you want to do it then do it but dont call it nature or education, im a student here in Portugal (first year of biology) I know what nature is, a bearded dragon would never meet a green anole in nature

Agreed. I have minimal respect for the extremists. I have reached the point years ago of not really caring what they say to me, all I do is piss them off into the next dimension by spamming pictures of meat being cooked to them. XD Because hey, I don't need to show respect to those who won't do the same to me, ya know? Treat others the way you want to be treated. Now I also do want to back up what Junkie is saying as well, to a degree. In this case, I am discussing beardies. Realistically, they naturally will eat a diet that consists 80% of insects and 20% vegetables. Aka, no whole prey like mice or other lizards. Which they are opportunistic about their diet, technically speaking, feeding live whole prey to a beardie is realistically just for people who have nothing better to do since it's really not feeding them a "natural diet". It's just making an animal die for the hell of it, in the case of beardies. Nature is when you actually do conform to the animal's natural needs. So for example, feeding a ball python a f/t rodent is still nature because you're still simulating that natural diet. Where feeding a garter snake a variety of worms, feeder fish and an occasional rodent (like I do with my two CB checkered garters) is also nature in that sense since I simulate their natural diet, versus what we WANT their diet to be as humans. This is honestly a double edged sword. Since a lot of the time yes it IS natural for animals to prey upon others, but it is NOT natural for a species of lizard that would eat only insects and veggies in the wild to be fed live whole prey that they really wouldn't eat all that often except just during an opportunity being present or anything pertaining to feeding animals something not within their natural diet and calling it natural just simply because they eat it anyway. It's literally the same as feeding a cat (which are carnivores even in domestication) a vegan diet and calling it natural just because the cat will eat it.

Harleking You can if you take supplements. It's much healthier than eating red meat and dying of heart disease lol.
@Comic_Serif
@Comic_Serif 6 жыл бұрын
KittySwitchblad3, That's actually false, it's not red meat that increases heart disease but actually processed meat that causes it. Also, having to take supplements shows that it obviously isn't a healthy lifestyle, you can eat meat and be healthy if your diet is well balanced enough. The main factor is that plants lack amino acids that meat has which is why vegans are likely to be unhealthy without any form of supplements.

Katherine Burkett that's still nature though, animals eating each other. Its the food chain to survive you must eat and carnivores don't have that type of a digestive system for plants. What do you think happens in the wild? There is gonna be death either way. The prey dies and feeds the predator or the predator painfully dies a slow death of starvation. This world is a beautiful and cruel place, there is nothing we can do to change.
@robinsinger86
@robinsinger86 6 жыл бұрын
Yea. In nature. That's the point. Not in some asshole's house because he thought it would be a good idea to make a documentary creating something that naturally occurs because people are dumbasses and don't understand that you can't change certain natural instincts, or that it would take years and years of evolution and an extreme reason for a predatory species to adapt away from that. For example, bearded dragons may not have always been omnivores, but may have been strictly a predatory species at one time but had to adapt to eat vegetation as well because of some change to their environment which resulted in a lack of certain prey (hypothetically). Creating the scenario the way it was done in this video is animal abuse, it's not like the guy shot a video of an actual nature scene. Bearded dragons will eat their own hatchlings, they are stimulated to a feeding response by movement as part of their genetic makeup. We get it. There's a circle of life and a way nature handles everything. We fucking get it. It doesn't require killing something on your own time to give an example. The guy yanking the anole by its tail to initiate the feeding response is a douchebag.

I am only a vegetarian for the horrors that are factory farms. However? I would never want a predator like my bearded dragon or gecko to be forced to eat plants. It’s life, okay? Plus, the live animals can bring different types of protein to your dragon, making them healthier and providing enrichment. I grew up with David Attenborough’s documentaries, and am still watching them today. My love for nature will always stay strong!

MangleDragon small question what’s your thoughts on animals feeding off people? *this isn’t sarcasm*
@aamaterasu4790
@aamaterasu4790 5 жыл бұрын
Normally, it's the result of WILD animals being kept as "pets" and then the animals simply go by their instincts and hunt their prey, and then the animals get shot afterwards. Other times, it's just the result of people being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I just think that keeping any kind of wild animal like a tiger, in a cage is cruel, especially since there are more tigers in people's backyards in cages than there are in the wild. My thoughts on the second thing, with people in the wrong place, is just that the animal is acting on instinct. It sees prey that looks an awful lot like an oversized, hairless monkey, and go for the pretty much free meal. I don't think it's right to go after animals that COULD be dangerous, but defending yourself from peril is completely fine. You're saving your own life, after all.

MangleDragon I didn’t mean killing and eating, silly ^^ kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3LRm6KvrNloh9U >w< they are very cute! I kinda see why people would be for keeping some species in some enclosures, breeding them would be better, and is about the best thing we have besides cloning, which may be possible, and require less effort than keeping the animals alive, altho it still requires a relative of said species for them to actually be able to ‘cloned’

PinkishPineapple yeah. Any carnivore or omnivore in the wild will hunt and kill animals for food. It’s just a way of life. And if we made all carnivores and omnivores vegetarian, that would through off the balance of nature. Predators keep down the population of certain animals so that they don’t overpopulate. Mufasa didn't live in a zoo. And I think he might get different meat types when living in a zoo IF he did. Like fish, chicken, rabbit, beef, or pork. He wouldn't have to hunt because he'd be in an enclosure, and the things I listed that he might be eating is typically bred on a farm or in a fish tank. But, they are very abundant as well. When you live in America or some other country that doesn't have native lions, don't expect them to have impala, gazelle, or zebra meat on hand. :3 Just say'n. Also he's a carnivore, as long as the meat isn't poisoned or too rotted to eat, he won't have any problems. As long as he's well fed, he'll stay a happy kitty with Sarabi at his side. :)

I honestly cried watching the mouse and lizard eaten. I paused the video and didn’t watch the rest. I understand it happens but I don’t want to watch it. I have a beardie and he eats crickets and super worms. To me, bugs just seem to have a quicker death and aren’t as pain inflicted as long. I own several rodents and they are incredible, soulful creatures. I understand I eat animals. But I simply can’t watch the process. I was a vegetarian for 7 years. I am not anymore but still. People will be upset. But all they should do is not watch it because I realized after 7 years, predation is just a part of life and keeps our earth balanced.

So you have a poor sick puppy that you cared a lot for, it has something about 1 day to leave because of a birth malformation. To not make some waste the vet ask if he could use the dead puppy afterward to feed african lion in the zoo nearby. the question is, do we let the cats kill it? or do we give him a painless death? btw you're forced to watch either choices. See what I mean? it's not the "meat" factor being the issue, it's the "Eat him alive in his hopeless situation". there are but a handful of predator in the wild doing a 70% success rate out of predation. what this shitty youtuber did here is not predation, it's an execution. and you just feel no remorse because he's convaincing you how ok it is to give such death to animals, you also feel no remorse because little rat and lizard are none of your concern.

I own two reptiles but I don't agree at all. Yes, they are instinct predators. Isn't that obvious ? How was that educational ? Just to be clear, I have nothing against you feeding your lizards with other animals and I hope those extremists who sent you death threats will get punished, but just stop making excuses and pretending that video was educational. Showing two Bearded dragons eating an Anole have pretty much nothing to do with nature since both species don't even live on the same continent, so they would never encounter each other in the wild. Also, in this situation, the Anole had absolutely no chance to escape in face of two predators in a captive environment. Nothing is natural here, don't be deluded. Feed your lizards with other lizards if it entertains you and film it all you want, I personally don't mind, but by doing so, don't expect every reptile owner to support you in a controversy that YOU are facing. Even if we share the same passion for reptiles, I still can't blame people for being offended by that kind of content.
@0TricksterLove0
@0TricksterLove0 7 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you. Just because you love reptiles, doesn't mean all reptile lovers will agree on this topic. Where I live, it is illegal to feed live vertebrae animals to other animals. They have to be already dead and killed ethically. Such as frozen and thawed rats and mice. And I agree with it, because putting a live rat in a cage with a snake can end badly for both animals, it also isn't natural to be put in an enclosure where the prey cannot escape. It's cruel. As someone who loves all animals, I care for the rats and mice just as much as the snakes. I want them to have the most ethical and humane deaths that they can have, and dying by a snake, tarantula or lizard isn't the most ethical and humane way of dying. We have the ability to empathise, unlike the animals and their prey. We should use that empathy will all living things. You can still understand the circle of life and be empathic and ethical towards prey animals.

If you must feed your lizard live food, then do so. I think people are more outraged by the fact that a lot of feeding videos I see seem unnecessary, I'm not an expert but I have to question whether or not the live animal needs to be fed to any animal in any feeding video. Such as a bearded dragon eating a rat. Is it really necessary that a dragon must eat a rat? It doesn't seem morally right to be feeding a rat to something that can't kill it quick and painless. Also I see bearded dragons eat insects a lot can you not just feed them insects? If you can avoid it you should always feed your pet something that will die almost immediately. It's the same moral standings human hunters have when taking out there own kills, such not taking head-shots on animals because in the end the animal could live through the shot and be in agony until it dies.

What he’s trying to tell us is that lizards will eat other lizards, and people don’t seem to understand that they do. There are very few reptiles that can happily cohab, predatory reptiles are most often in the group of wanting to eat or hurt each other. The point of his feeding videos was to show that. Those dragons didn’t stop and go “oh man, another lizard we should be friends” they straight up ate it. Besides, saying that animals (when live feed) should only die quickly and painlessly is you putting on your human morals. It’s only be the last few decades that we’ve cared about quick and painless deaths for animals. Nature isn’t quick- it isn’t painless. Very rarely is death painless, and everybody knows that. Now, what you can argue for live feeding is that the feeder animal may injure your captive animal. That should be your biggest concern when live feeding.

No human should ever assume the role of a figure that decides the roles of nature. The world has a balance that has been many years in the making. Let nature decide itself for it's own acts, not humanity. We are not animals so yes we shouldn't follow their example, however... We should know better as well. The humans so obsessed with changing the world should start by changing themselves. You have ultimate power over yourself and this is a fact most people forget when criticising the world around them. Stop to think of your nature. Start, by thinking... This was a well justified message in this video. Please have a wounderful and enlightening day

@@glowstickqueen7139 they usually don’t because they know whatever germs/viruses on the animal will come out and it can effect them

@@aidoesthat I don't think wild animals know about germs and viruses, definitely that they can get sick from eating corpses and see how I implied "not always"

I don’t like the idea of feeding lizards to lizards. Especially anoles. I have an emotional history with anoles.

Thank you. I own six bearded dragons. And I really don’t care what most people think about them. I think they are a marvelous creature, one that God has allowed me to spend a short time with, and I hope that I don’t let him down by doing anything shameful to one of these creatures.

Unless you like force a lizard in their mouth :/, u did that it's unfair because in the wild the mouse or lizards can run but they can't it's not natural so that means ur lizard doesn't exercise it's unhealthy imahave done that my lizard died I'm not a bad owner now I put my lizard in my big yard and it's prey and I make him work for it if he wants food he has to chase but of h can't get it I just feed him frozen but like how u put the green lizard in the bearded dragons mouth to make it move was just so rude everything lizard owner has their ways and your way I disagree with

Dude, it's his fucking pet. He needs to feed them. Why do you even care to begin with? You need to learn that nature is nearly the same way.
