I think a very plausible inspiration for the Monkey Queen that's been overlooked is Guanyin. There's a lot here: Guanyin is the Buddha of mercy and compassion, and there's even a tale involving her and a white parrot. More specifically, in Journey to the West, it's Guanyin who creates the golden crown and puts it on Sun Wukong, and she sends him on the titular journey with the end goal that she will remove the collar at the end. So we not only have a parallel for the Monkey Queen sending Wilbur away, and the crown, but we even have a parallel to the Monkey Queen being the one who reverses the wonkey curse on player characters. She has mercy upon the cursed characters and rewards them for reaching the end of their "journey" - handing her enough bananas. She refers to the bananas as "gold", too, which would normally just be a "haha, monkeys love bananas" joke, but with everything else and the other references to Journey to the West, I think becomes pretty significant.

Hey. Don't forget that the WX-78 short is not the only place where you can see a monkey in the real world. The monkey appeared in the short film about Wes, and they are also mentioned in the Willam Carter puzzle, where they are described as getting out of the van. They are also featured on the Wolfgang poster. I always thought that Wilbur was a real-world trained ape that got into the Constant.

Another semi-useless side note: Walani's a pirate, she mentions it in some of her examine quotes, off the top of my head the Cutlass examine, but I know there's more, there's a real chance that Walani was another surviving member of Woodlegs' crew, which would explain her what seems to be depression, shown again in some examine quotes, she's not laid-back because that's just who she is, she's laid-back because her friends and crew are all dead and she just doesn't care anymore, and while it's possible, she likely still hasn't seen Woodlegs so to her, everyone she used to know is dead

I just like to think Wilbur is just a normal monkey. But a monkey raised in captivity, he could possibly be one if the escaped circus monkies in one of the newspapers.

My theory is that he's the monkey seen with wagstaff, probably an early test into the portal by wagstaff, because he probably trained wilbur certain things it would allow him higher intelligence which would help him become monkey king. The monkeys would view him as a benefit as he'd be teaching them things which would aid in their growth as well. He might have been thrown out, due to how his influence had helped them grow. the monkey queen appears (with my very limited knowledge of monkeys, i admit) to be an orangatan. This would mean her strength and size would benefit her greatly as a force of power. They might not have a proper 'relationship" in that regard, as it may simply be wilbur was gaining influence and this upset the queen greatly, so he was thrown out.

(I'm not pretty good in English so here is might be some spelling mistakes)So. When spider was brought in real world by Wagstaff(like for experimenting with merging constant creatures and other, maybe werbber's dad was good assistant for Wagstaff)he attacked human and Webber was born. So it means that somehow Wagstaff can make creatures merge with other creatures or even a human. And I guess almost every creature in the constant is merge of two creatures like:catcoons, goosemoose and many many others like... pirate monkey. Maybe... Just maybe... Wagstaff really helped with making the constant. And we don't know much about who really made constant and how. And Wagstaff maybe helped with it much(at least with creatures). I want to sleep so I can't think like normal human. That means it's all I have for now.

I always took Wilbur for an earth monkey rather than a Constant monkey. Wolfgang's circus that crashed with William Carter's train had a cage of highly trained monkeys in it. Most of them wore fez's but I suppose its likely their best monkey would wear a little crown. i like how wilbur and the other survivors (walani, woodlegs) of shipwrecked choose to live in the tropical paradise instead of the desolate forest or hamlet, warly being different cause he doesn't prefer living anywhere, warly only gains his portable seasoning and portable grinding mill in the desolate forest, probably cause shipwrecked was how he learned to survive the constant, while the other shipwrecked survivors thrive in the environment

24:30 skeleton key or bone key is a tool used to unlock "any" lock, which makes sense why pirates would own one, which they died from quacken which is why its in a watery grave iron key is from quacken which has a kill count on pirates and clearly hoards their loot (which they leave as a reward not to kill them) yarrctopus wouldve come across the gold key naturally, or obtained it from trading with the pirates while they were still alive, they dont have a use for the item so they put it up for trade, bartering treasure for it.

Interesting theory! I do wonder tho, maybe that pirate faction was the one to make the volcano altar of snackcrifice, or at the very least the obsidian workbench? Those two estructures have always been kinda... there, no explanation whatsoever, and at least the workbench is supossed to be a parallel to the ancient stations on the ruins, yet there has never been a shipwrecked parallel to the ancients themselves. Maybe that's why both structures are in the volcano, the same place where Woodlegs is caged in

Have you looked into possible connections with the Queen of the Moon Quay and the story of Chang'e, the Moon Goddess and Zhu Bajie? In the Journey to the West mythology, Zhu Bajie was cursed, banished to earth, and transformed into a pig-monster after attempting to seduce Chang'e. It's also notable that prior to that, he was a grand marshal in charge of 80,000 celestial marines - not pirates, but sorta close.

We KNOW Woodie was a werebeaver on earth because of Walter's short. What connection does the moon of earth have with this 'moon' of the constant? Why does monster meat, presumably a mutation made by nightmare fuel, trigger the lycanthropic curses? Woodie used to transform when chopping trees but something Wickerbottom taught him changed that to simply eating monster meat. WHAT DOES WICKERBOTTOM KNOW? Woodie's distrust of birds most likely came as a result of his curse. Did the birds curse him for chopping down their trees? Did the birds cause the werepig curse too? Can the birds channel the powers of the moon? When you help Wagstaff in the moonstorms you fight off waves of mutated crows and birds. Maxwell doesn't seem to know how crows got into the constant. Woodie thinks they spy on him. Why do canarys explode in the caves? If a male goose is called a gander does that imply that weregoose Woodie is female? Can weregoose Woodie lay an egg? If so, what would hatch from that egg? A weregoosling? THESE ARE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS GOD DAMN IT.

Did Wickerbottom have the Codex Umbra before Maxwell? Maxwell's train was going from New York to San Francisco. We know from Winnona's trailer that Wickerbottom's library was in New York. We know from Wickerbottom's trailer that she has a secret section of the library that with a lot of knowledge and items regarding shadows and nightmares (including a doll of Willow?). Why would Wickerbottom be transporting the Codex Umbra to San Francisco? Was she going to confer with the spiritualists that Wendy turned too when trying to reconnect with Abigale's spirit? Some feedback I wanted to give about thise videos: I have an issue with the theory videos you make and its not the theories themselves but rather how you compile them. Also the video presentation adds to this problem. When I watch your theory videos what I notice is you start to talk about something and then go "to explain this we need to look at something else" and then go "to explain that we need to look at something else." And after a while I go "What am I even listening to anymore". It doesn't feel clear at all. Like when I imagine someone that is not familiar with dst I lore can definetly see them feeling like you are just mumbling random whatever at that point. Even I lose track of what the video was talking about from time to time. I like that the video is structured into parts but those parts are not clear enough and are half explained before going to the next part which after a while you go back to talk about a previous part. Things that could help with this are: - You could make a crime board type string connection as the video progresses to better see what is related to where ( or at least know where things are going without getting spoiled) - Structure in a chronological order like telling a story so the video is constant and there is no back and forth. -Put in key sentences or words and use them multiple times when talking about to same topic for getting our attention where you want exactly. -More and interesting visuals (too much black screen and png right now)
