Mo - what I've told people who seem to be curious and opinionated is "riding a bike is the ultimate test in defensive driving, if you fail the test, you'll likely pay with your life". I came up with that more than 30 years ago when I started riding. Ride like you're invisible, wear the right gear and enjoy the freedom and exhilaration of being on two wheels. The other thing I tell them in the same sentence is 'get some qualified training'. GWRRA had great training as you well know. There are still others out there that offer it. Nice little rant, thanks for putting it out there. Great weekend down here in OH for some late season riding as well. I think I'm going out for a little jaunt today myself!

Have a buddy who bought a bike, rode it twice, never learned any skills, sold it because "other drivers" made him feel he could be killed. Fast forward 10 years, he did it again.

We all accept life’s dangers when we get on a bike. Those that drive cars lane shift without looking or caring who is in the lane next to them. So keep your head on a swivel and stay as safe as possible and don’t worry. BE HAPPY. God Bless

It was 1985 and my riding partner and I were doing an extended weekend in Toronto coming from Michigan, this one lady outside of A proprietary bike shop, asked my friend aren’t riding those motorcycles dangerous?⚠️… to which he responded, “Listen lady, I’ve never done anything in this world that was fun, that wasn’t dangerous”©️

Your probably safest to sit in your house and watch TV your whole life. And not do anything. That's definitely not me. I want too ride.
