If it makes you feel better he's only in one campaign right at the end :) also a hint that might help you maybe spoilers depending on how you treat them you can befriend scavengers, attacking them will make them aggressive and saving them and giving them gifts will befriend them although some scavs are mean anyway you can tell by their body language and expressions usually. this also applies to other creature too although some can't be tamed at all, hope this helps!

Another hint, if needed. Scavengers can throw spears left and right, just like you, but they can also throw slightly down, but not up. So stay above them if you can.
