Hey Kev :-) I don't have any questions but maybe a suggestion or two. You're a tall dude, meaning your frame will be signifacantly bigger than what most riders use. This of course translates to a bigger frame triangle that leaves space for even bigger frame bags and stuff, hence my suggestions. Have you heard about the Crank Tank? It comes in two versions, 3 litres and 4 litres, and fits right down in the bottom of your frame triangle, keeping your CG as low as possible. As for frame bags, you can easily make them yourself. There are plenty of how-to videos here on the 'Tube that tells you everything you need to know, so all you need to do is to come up with your personal design, source the materials that will give your bag its desired capabilities and stitch it up. It's fun, it's rewarding and it's 100% unique. Give it a shot, I can promise you won't regret it. So if you set your bike up with a Crank Tank 4L, you can make the bag to fit the remaining free area of your triangle.

Great recommendations! Thank you! I have no idea how good (or bad) I am with a sewing machine so I may leave that to the pros lol

I custom ordered a frame bag from Rogue Panda, the bags are made to your design and are extremely well made. Great zippers lovely tough fabric and good looking too. It is my second bike I have outfitted with their products.

I watched your SHLL series jealous of your fitness Kev, but not your bike choice, lol. I rode the route a couple years ago on a fat bike with 27.5x3.8" tires. If I was to do it again, my choice would be a 2.8 or 3" tire. Faster than a fat tire, more float through chunk than skinnier tires. (There are places in the San Rafael Swell where even 4" tires just aren't enough though.) Thanks for recording your adventures, looking forward to the next!

I agree with the 3" tire - seems like the perfect amount of squish!

I have an Apidura frame bag, the next size up. It has worked great for me without issue. My only issue is the top velcro strap comes off during the ride.
