I saw a guy get killed at a mud race years ago. 2 trucks hooked up together to pull a stuck one out. When they took off, a long snatch rope was hooked onto the stuck Bronco's trailer hitch. The hitch came off the bumper, flew maybe 40' & hit a guy on the side of the neck/head. It knocked him out & cut his neck badly. He died right there. Standing in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Rip brother.

This episode seems to be the perfect one for me to try to share my appreciation for the huge effort it takes to reclaim an abandoned machine. To my mind, 'time' has forgotten this little Komatsu dozer. It has watched the seasons and years go by as it sat forgotten and lifeless and left to rust away in a field somewhere in America, as so many other machines do around the world. They sit in the mountains, the deserts, the quarries, the farms, and the jungles all over this planet. They can not cry out for help. They can not explain what they need to run and work again. ..... Then, after 9 lonely years, along comes a very special person who instinctively recognizes potential in what so many people see as an abandoned hunk of iron. Along comes Wily. He is very rare kind of guy. Rare because, not only does he recognize the potential in a machine, but he has the determination and the skill and the desire to reclaim it. He's a true blue hero. So now I watch and admire how Wily, step by step, begins the process of breathing new life into a forgotten little dozer. He will reclaime it and restore it to its original purpose. Thank you Wily, you're my kind of guy.

@terryhayes704611 ай бұрын
Yessir,if you’re sitting in the seat and press down the right pedal and hold it then there is a small lever right below the steering levers underneath the dash pull it out and let off the brake pedal and that locks your brakes. Right under the battery tray on each side there is a cover it has two bolts holding each cover on I can’t remember if they are a 15mm or 17mm but remove those covers and that is your brake band adjustment

Out of all the comments that I heard during the entire video, someone who called out "if that cable snaps you could be cut in two" was the most likely truth that I heard. I actually cringed watching this because of that. In my youth, I served in the US Navy aboard a series of Aircraft Carriers in the South China Sea off N. Vietnam. I had the experience of watching an arresting cable snap while recovering an aircraft. The arresting cable is about the size of your wrist but the flailing loose ends cut one of our guys in two like a hot knife through butter. That little cable on the winch may not have had that much force behind it but it could have done serious damage to human tissue. You couldn't have gotten me within reach of that with the offer of all the money in the world. As far as what locked up the little dozer, I look forward to hearing the rest of the story.

Should’ve been keeping an eye on that snatch block. If you would’ve just picked up the left side of the dozer and put the board back up under it I think you’d loaded in five minutes. The winch probably could’ve pulled it up there easily by itself but instead you had the grousers, grab it on the metal ramps ….

I would pull the shifter cover off. It's kinda acting like something happened to the shift fork and it's stuck in gear or locked between gears
@CharlesUnkel11 ай бұрын
Someone in the past 9 years has probably played around on it and bent or broke the shifting forks. My guess from my limited experience with manual transmissions would be that with a twisted or broke shifting fork is that the transmission is actually locked in two gears. Take the top off the transmission and look at the shifting forks.
