I am giving my 10th board exams. And I opt for PCM in class 11th and 12th. So, I am trying to cover some of the topics of class 11 and the best way to do this is by watching your videos. In class 9th I had studied that Pressure = Force/Area and now I came to know that Stress = Force/Area and also they both have the same SI unit, N/m square that is Pascal, named in the honour of the great scientist James Pascal. So, that means that Pressure and Stress both are the same thing given different names. Thanks Don't Memorise for such a nice explanation.
@jakeperalta84214 жыл бұрын
Stress is applicable only to solids whereas pressure can be used anywhere. Stress can be positive or negative, pressure can only be positive. Stress is generally used in cases where a force is *exerted* whereas pressure is *amount* of force per unit area. Hope this clears your doubt. Keep on learning📖📖👨🎓

Ni pressure and stress are both different things...stress is dependent on pressure...cause pressure is due to external force and stress is due to internal force... And internal force occur just because of external force. If there will be no external force means pressure so there will be no stress( internal force)... Perhaps u get it...
