Nearing the end of my time working there, I was pushing quad flips, but those were hard because I had to mix height with spin speed, both of which are intimidating and dangerous. There are some compensatory measures they can and/or may have taken to help. Obviously, the engine is intended for 87 and I'm sure they put in higher octane. In addition, rejetting the carb for a richer mixture will cool the charge as it goes through the turbo and is forced to evaporate. With some sort of logic control, they could wire it to open the fuel solenoid (the one used w/ N2O) at WOT to inject extra fuel after the turbo to cool the charge further and reduce knock... And then, of course, they could add an intercooler... but none of that is likely to be a big deal at the 2-3 PSI they are seeing.

@DoctorMotorcycle Жыл бұрын
It doesn't make any meaningful amount of boost because without volume in the plenum, you're working against the intake valve. The smaller the engine, and especially with single cylinders, the more plenum volume you need. Add about a coke-bottle sized air chamber in between the turbo and head, and increase the main jet size by about 50%, it will fly. Just make sure you design it so that the lowest part of the coldside piping is still the intake port, if that makes sense. You don't want fuel puddling up. -Doc

This thing goes 30 stock. I had this exact CT200U-EX and topped out at 30, and the way to do it, is to remove the throttle limiter screw on the throttle linkage. @SuitedMoose Жыл бұрын
@rubengomez1589 Yeah the sprocket makes a HUGE difference! I was just about to run a new one that would've cut my ratio in half, and theoretically near doubled the speed. Unfortunately, I sold it because as a 15 year old, the police don't like when I ride it on the street and I wasn't looking to get my license at 18. I also never fully disabled the governor because I didn't want my valves to float, and didn't feel like spending 300 on a new flywheel, valve springs, and rod. These things rip if you know what to do with them!

The answer to give when someone says they have nitros in their vehicle is, "Get a job." They are pretty simple structures, and that engine is such low performance that its not really pushing it even when you double the power. Consider that KTM makes a similar size 200cc that makes 26 HP stock, you realize these aren't exactly competing against stock small motorcycles even with a turbo and NOS.
@Unpredictable21- Жыл бұрын
14:15, it didn't last a day with those modifications. But if you left it stock I would give it a year and my 14yr old self would have that thing ragged. Been there done that.

@@jakegarrett8109 The bike uses incredibly thin tubing. It is marketed as a children’s toy. They are not sold as motorcycles at all, they are mini-bikes with a 196cc log-splitter engine. This bike is $799, KTM’s 200 is a real motorcycle and costs thousands of dollars. I don’t think it is fair to compare. I paid an additional 800 for Tillotson 225 racing motor with 18+ hp that will make you shit your pants. It is not legal or practical at all, but it is fun. In their videos, the turbo and nos do almost nothing as the gearing has not changed and they made no modifications to the internals of the engine. I would be surprised if their bike makes even 12hp. These Coleman’s have the potential to hit 60+ mph. KTM’s bike is also a full-size motorcycle, these are much smaller.
@jakegarrett8109 Жыл бұрын
@@nicholasgascoyne3144 I'm aware the limitations, since they were doing drag testing I'd keep the gearing stock (or use a CVT from a go-cart, or I've also got a small torque converter which allows you to double your torque at takeoff but mine doesn't have electromagnetic torque locking capability so you'll lose top speed due to inefficiency not being able to lock it at speed). My guess is they turned that 6-6.5 HP engine into MAYBE 10 HP (could be 12, but I'm with you its still very close to single digits), and that's kind of my point. Any motorcycle engine is going to make more, even my grandfather's 90cc did 70 mph stock with a full size adult. Kids wreck these all the time though, and you don't want parents angry that a broken pipe jabbed into a kids leg, so its not that thin. Also my neighbor was about 200-230 pounds when he was 12 (he looked like an adult), and his little 96cc roughly minibike held up to him making little tiny ramps (which is a massive loading condition coming down without suspension), so the frame design is quite good for what it is (it could be better, but its actually not that bad). And with low power its not exactly twisting the engine out of its mounts.

Change it to a blow thru set up, won't destroy the turbo seals and you will get more power. Add a boost circuit, a larger pipe section before the carb to help keep the turbo spooled up. Then combine the nitrous with the turbo 😁
@lvr1028 Жыл бұрын
The stock carb was never meant to work above atmospheric pressure, so the boost can actually fight the fuel from coming out properly. Need a way to increase fuel pressure proportional to the boost in order to do a blow through application. Simpler to do what they did
@baronteddyvonforsthoffer2567 Жыл бұрын
@@lvr1028 there are mods you can do to make it more efficient. For a little project like this, it's fine. If you're looking for tons of power then obviously fuel injection would be the way to go.
@jakegarrett8109 Жыл бұрын
@@lvr1028 Its literally a BOX around the carb, with a hose going from that up to the fuel tank vent. Its not rocket science, it keeps it all the same equal pressure. Seems easier to do that than work with the extra pipe plumbing.

I think this should become a new show for you "money pit mini" you have to build up that bike but you can only use things from wish or no name brands on ebay and Amazon harbor freight unless you can't find the right part. First thing is fix whatever broke at the track then diy weld a trike frame so you have more mounting points and support. This is an idea I'd love to see you guys do.

Thanks for another awesome Hi-Low series and all the work y'all do! I know it's not easy to keep up with the expenses and although I'm not a fan of all the wish videos etc you guys still work hard and I appreciate that.

Dear video editor, No matter how bored I get of these donut media episodes that blow series, I would like to show my gratitude for your sense of humor and ability to put your touch. It started nonchalant and really got me geekin' but now you can kinda tell it's being paid for. Be it positive feedback. Just for memes. What have you... Good entertainment either way. I especially appreciate the add timer so skipping that mf is quicker. Thank you for your service Mr video editor.

This was awesome but ditch the clutch and get a torque converter! Will make a huge difference! My Baja Warrior mini bike was stock about 20-22mph with the stock 6.5hp engine. I removed the governor and replaced the clutch with a torque converter and ram on average about 37mph with one time hitting 42mph. Keep making the great videos! Thanks!

I'm convinced the carburetor is holding this bike back still. I'd bet your biggest gain vs stock or NOS was the fact that it's probably been de-governed after moving it, and I'd also bet you'd start making actual boost with an oversized Chinesium ATV carb (maybe for 300cc if this is a 212cc bike). Edit, now they've taken it all in a different direction anyway so this video is just a relic in time.
@_..-.._..-.._ Жыл бұрын
That carb is a motorcycle carb, the stock one was a normal Honda gx160/200 type. That carb is huge for a stock motor with a tiny amount of boost.
@BozesanVlad Жыл бұрын
I'm sure that the farther the carb is, the better air/ fuel mix enters the engine with or without turbo

probably the flywheel or clutch springs. you can buy different tension springs for speed and to remove governance. Also you could bore it out and drop a larger piston in there. That might be fun(ny).

Little tip. The turbo does nothing without first taking apart the engine and removing the governor system along with bigger cam, better piston rod, better fly wheel and bigger pistons
