I think you are missing the point of what Demo is trying to achieve. He wanted somewhere that had tangible history of being a town that was now abandoned, or a holiday resort which had once been the source of so much joy and love. The Astronaut cum ranch would not quite have fitted the bill. I can't remember what size ACR is, but Demo's for some reason I have 320 acres in my head

housing developers are probably paying upwards one million for the land alone, I don't know the exact acreage but at 4000 an acre it'd be an expensive purchase without much profitability from it other than commercializing it or selling it later down the line

Same shit happened to the ranch Deer Meat for Dinner was filming on. Housing development got the land next to the Freedom Factory. Which is absolutely a ticking time bomb for those race tracks in Bradenton Florida. As a California resident. I'm sorry that is happening.
