This is Part 3 of 7 how I converted my 97cc Baja Doodle bug Mini Bike over to a 6.5 HP motor mini bike. I wouldn't recommend this unless you are an experienced rider. I drill hole pattern in the engine mounting plate.

Just posted a video response of my old 'Bug with a 5 hp Honda. If your viewers have access to a welder, I bought a new motor plate from Ebay that had the slotted holes already drilled in the standard bolt pattern. Also moved the footpeg tube to the front of the frame for more space. Great job on documenting your swap, I'm sure you've helped a lot of "modders" out there!

Just a little tip....I drill metal everyday and it you want to prolong the life of your drill bit you should step it up... it will prolong it and is easier to drill. U should also get one of those spring action center punches there easier to use and work fine...they sell them at harbor freight. use a a small bit like a #30 then go up to 3/16, 1/4, then 5/16 it wil go through with very little effort and will keep the bit sharp for a long time

@TheBootyDoctor6 I wouldn't recommend anything bigger than the 6.5 HP. Another guy on youtube put a 13 hp on his doodle bug and had to remove it and put the 6.5 hp on it. It is just way too light for an engine with that much power. Unless you can change the gear ratio it would be too dangerous in my opinion. Good luck and thatnks for watching.

@wsvitak You're right. I knew that I was only doing this once so I wasn't too concerned with wear on the bit. If I was drilling stuff everyday or doing multiples of these I would have taken a different approach with the drill bits. Thanks for watching.

@SuperRobertwatkins Cool. I checked out your video. I think I menetion it in one of the parts that I rotated the pull start so you can pull it straight up while seated on the bike.

@murderdrumkill The clutch didn't come with the engine. I bought it from a local mower repair shop in my area. I would check locally first.

hey just a tip. when drilling through metal dont use speed. use a powerful slow drill and use a cutting oil wd-40 will just help the bit spinn. just a tip

@murderdrumkill ok so i got the engine......took off gov.....did return spring.....but when i put it on the frame it doesnt fit with the gas tank.....so i guess ima hafto rmove tank and put it somewhere else so it fits good....i have a bonanza mini bike
