DB30 CARBURETOR This is a DB 30 2.5 hp minibike. I have to say
that I really enjoy riding this as much as riding
the big ones.... Reliving some fun times from my
childhood!!! A minibike is where it all started....

Thanks much Sir and this is absolutely the best small carb vid for these motors I've ever seen. Could NOT find the low speed mixture screw and now I know it's behind that plastic plug. Also was not aware of the one way hole in the plastic air jet needing to be lined up. Thanks very much.

Really help. I had no idea there was a plastic jet under the idle screw. Ended up trying to slot the jet inside the bowl which destroyed the carb and had to order a new one

I cleaned the carb but now i dont know if its the carb or something else. It does run with the choke on or off but when you give it throttle it cuts out?

great video very help full i had cleaned i carb pretty good already so i hot until you reveal the plasic screw that was hiding. i took out the jet underneath and shuved a paper clip up in the oriface and cleared all the crud out. to my suprise when i put the carburator back on it started first pull, i just had to adjust the idle air screw and throttle screw

Should the idle adjustment screw be screwed in all the way, or should I back it out a certain amount of turns?

Hello, There are two screws to adjust. #one is the Idle adjustment. = when the bike is just sitting = how fast the engine runs. You can see the screw push on the throttle # two is the air mixture screw. That is usually backed out one and a half to two and a half. Hope that helps!

Hi there, Really appreciate the info provided in this video, especially the part about the plastic cap over one of the jets, and I like your setup for collecting parts of the carb so you don't lose them! I recently got a DB30 and it runs with the choke about 1/2 but not at all without choke, so im thinking the carb could use a good cleaning, but I have other bikes that i've fixed up to use in the meantime. This video was a huge help, Thanks!

Hello, I wish I could make better videos, but I am glad if it helped.I think a lot of the problems with the small carbs has to do with the Ethanol in the gas? I have heard there is something that you can put in the gas to keep the ethanol from corroding the carbs. I love to ride it though !

How did you get the plastic cap off the carb

Hello, If you are talking about the plastic cap that covers the adjustable screw on the side of the carb, I just used a sharp dental pick. You can use anything that has a sharp end. Mine came out easy. You will probably have to pick at it. It may destroy the plastic cap. If you look online you may find a gas station that sells gas With No ethanol in it. Since I started using the gas it has been years since I have had to clean the carb. I use it in all of my small carb engines now. Good luck! Look up Buy Real Gas . Com Or Pure Gas . Org

my engine is leaking where this thing is and the choak is leaking gas, do i just pull my whole engine apart? im new to engines i work mostly with electrical

Hello, Working on engines is just like electrical work. Start with the easiest or simplest and work from there. Try to see where it is leaking from exactly. What is leaking - gas, oil? When does it leak? Is a bolt, nut, or screw loose =careful not to over tighten? it may a bad gasket or worn out o ring. If you cannot see exactly where it is leaking from, cleaning the bike very good and then watching where it is leaking may help. Go slow. You will get better over time. I always try to remember machines are logical. Hope you are riding soon!

does anyone have a pic of the stock throttle setup... im missing something keeping the throttle from opening. I have all the return springs setup right but I cant figure it out

In another video, I watched a guy use an additional cheap, $1 spring to "assist" the throttle. He used the 2nd hole on the long throttle lever and attached the other end to the exhaust grill. Not sure if that helps.

find a gas station with non-ethanol unleaded, it's usually 91-92 octane... I've been using it in EVERY engine I own for five years now, ethanol won't go in anything I own except in the shortest pinch...

Yes ! I started using ethanol free gas in all my small engines. I lookedon't for ethanol free gas on the Internet...

Useless done all this carb gets gas has gas in all holes are good air goes threw no issues yet if I put gas into the carb from the filter side will run for few secs but cleaned everything done everything by spec and now still doesn’t get gas to the engine from the carb so I got no clue wtf going on

Sorry I took so long to answer. You have found it by now I am sure. Air mixture screw is under the plug I showed. The idle screw is on the same side as the muffler on my bike.
