Darcy Short is horrendous in all departments - he starts slow while batting (thus wasting the PP) and then keeps pushing singles for a while then couple of desperation shorts & out. End result is an innings at SR of 120 after using up a lot of deliveries. So on paper it seems he scored some runs but it hurts his team.

D'Arcy was terrible in the field, but he played his role batting with just rotating strike to let Wade who was in form bat before stepping up when he got out, unfortunately some freak fielding was his downfall but he still did a good enough job

A game is only 1 and half hrs but cricket is like 3 and half hrs (t20 , in odi's it's a solid 9 hr ) because of that it would go for much more months than what it took for a 32 team fifa wc . Also unlike football , pitch and ground conditions matter in cricket . If they play for such a long time then the pitches won't be good during the knockout stages which are the most important . Also for the minor cricketing nations like Nepal , Kenya , usa , Scotland , zimbabwe , they need their players to take part in more cricketing leagues ,gaining experience and skills from various talented players . That's i think franchise cricket is very important . Ipl , bbl , cpl , psl , sa20 , t10 are all important for spreading quality . Then we might start seeing more nations like afganistan who benefited unbelievably from ipl and bbl .
