Late reply but you have to kill all the enemies in the previous room to unlock the door then sprint to the hallway ready to fire at swann and the bodyguard. Doing that rewards the player with the BFG very early in the game albeit with just one clip. You have to time it perfectly and make sure you don’t hit the tanks on the side of the room or it’s instant death.

@@traxler5730 Neither. There's a source port of Doom 3 for Android called DIII4A. Download the apk of that, then put 2004 Doom 3 "base" folder (BFG edition not supported) onto sdcard/diii4a/. You can play with touchscreen control, a controller, or kb+m (kb+m seems to work only when rooted apparently, haven't tested this).

Thanks for doing this. I’m playing on PS4, and while my time was 3x longer, (2hrs 48, but I wasn’t actually trying to get close to your time, so this time actually surprised me) and I can’t time rocket jumps properly, so had to take the long route sometimes, but this was actually quite helpful on getting through it faster than it would if I’d attempted to play on my own. The rocket door trick for delta 2, the elevator run and the cavern drop were some examples of times it really helped. To be fair, I did the usual campaign in 10 hrs 2 mins on veteran, so to get the trophy, I could have just played on rookie, ran through and still get the achievement, but I did not want to spend 5+ hours on this shitty game. So yeah, thanks very much for doing this.
