+Breno Pires It's from the Zelda, Ocarina of Time series, I think Shadow Temple. But they have a lot of bgms that sound similar to that, so I could be wrong. Edit: Ganon's tower, the first room with the pillars.

Well, this video is really old, but to answer your question: A lot of people do like Doom 3, but it’s divisive. Doom 3 was a slower paced, more cinematic, horror-focused game. It also was a graphics showpiece at the time of its release ... but those impressive graphics meant that the number of enemies who could be displayed on screen at any one time was limited. Mostly due to technical/hardware restrictions of its time. A lot of the game is spent fighting just a small handful of enemies at once, in cramped tight spaces, or “monster closets,” as opposed to huge hordes of hell in open combat like Doom 1 & 2. Some people just prefer the fast-paced, combat-focused design of the older Doom games. They didn’t want it to slow down or limit their movement. I like them both. I think Doom 3 was a great game ... just different. Doom 4 tried to incorporate the best elements of all of them ... with the speed and open environments of the old Doom games, but the art design and graphical style of Doom 3.

I never played this game on the N64 because of poor reviews at the time, and watching this I can see why. The graphics are hideous, even for N64. Everything is way too dark and the textures all look like mud (basically the result of trying to make them more detailed but lacking sufficient resolution to do so). The original Doom looked a lot better, because the textures actually fit the engine they were running on. And the level design seems really frustrating too. Kill some preset number of enemies to have some secret switch appear on the back of a column over there that opens another secret switch on the other side of the level. That said, the speedrun was very impressive.

The reason everything looks so muddy and ugly is the low stream/capture quality. On a real N64 it's one of the best looking games on the console, and the raycasting gfx have aged better than the polygons of Goldeneye for example.

The biggest reason the game reviewed poorly is because Quake came out the year prior. The industry moved on to full 3D graphics, and then this came out still using 2D sprites everywhere. Reviewers were unkind because of that. There were also issues related to memory limitations on the N64. Like was mentioned in the run, a couple fan-favorite enemies had to be excluded, and there's very few big, open arenas. It's mostly claustrophobic corridors. 'Cuz that's all the N64 could handle.
