Just played through the whole game, to be honest this is one of the best game that I have played with in the past few years. The doom series were always my favorite. What an incredible game. I had an immeasurable amount of fun playing this. I'm not sure a game has ever released so much testosterone and hatred from within me. It was truly relieving. My favorite part was the style of game that it was. Don't get me wrong, I love strategy games that take time and thought in order to succeed. But to have a game that caters to the ultra aggressive gamer is long overdue. From the Glory Kills to the Super Shotgun to the Chainsaw, it paid perfect homage to the original while amping up the intensity for modern times. 10/10. Fuck yes.

in all the codex things there are tons of references to Titans, big giant skyscraper sized demons. They kept building it up... figured we'd fight one of those. I'm not even mad that there were only three bosses, it's just that this one needed more build up. If we knew for sure that this thing IS Olivia then it would be good enough, but we don't even know if Olivia is even involved or if it's just a brain.

To clarify to everyone asking, It is my belief (I do not claim to know for certain) that this game takes place after Doom1, Doom2, and Doom64. At the end of Doom64, the UAC space marine we know as Doomguy vowed to remain in Hell so no demon could rise up again. In this game, it is stated that the tomb the main character was found in resided in Hell and was brought back to Mars for study. It is heavily implied that the demons of Hell eventually saw this space marine like a deity and he was bestowed powers while in Hell, even gaining the name "Doom Slayer". There is no timeframe as to how long he was there...but time could even move differently in Hell. Who knows? Like I said, I do not know for certain as a lot of things are ambiguous....but this is my belief. And with this story, it could be easily seen as a reboot. Doomguy has returned from Hell.

Supposedly the Doom Marine it's the same one as the first games, because there are a LOT TON of references to them, such as the Demon Lores caliing him "the one who fought between time and space against the demons, who never won against the Doom Slayer." Also, they make reference to DOOM 64 (A no-so-called sequel to Final DOOM before DOOM 3 was even planned), where [SPOILER] Doom Guy stays in Hell to fight off the demons for ever returning to Earth. And how this game begun? With the Doom Marine waking up in a bedrock and putting his Praetor Suit that was infused in Hell's rock. Apparently, the demons only defeat him so he could sleep and sealed him away, because (I think this is a joke) if they kill him, he'll still be in Hell with them.

This Mastermind is the shit! The one from the original Doom died to one BFG shot and got reused multiple times in D2 as a consequence, so I love how they handled making it more of a challenge in this game. I wonder, given its origin, if there are going to be anymore in the sequel if they make one.

The mastermind's size works against it, so it technically takes more damage from a BFG shot than smaller enemies do, because of its wider frame that can absorb more of the blast. The way BFG works in Doom is quite specific, I suggest you go read up on it, at Doom Wiki for example.

It was enough to keep me going. And to the people who are complaining about there not being enough info on certain topics, (like why doom guy was in a tomb exclusively) you had to explore hell for that info. What an awesome game! Loved every minute of it. Took me forever to get through a couple of bosses since I didn't grab all the power-ups along the way. Made me better at battling though. Personally, I would like to see more hell and less outer space in the upcoming follow ups. I am also a fan of heavy cinematic cut scenes.

I'm predicting it would have a John Romero head on a pike in full 1080 HD lol, or once you do enough damage to the icon it emerges from the wall splitting the mainframe walls like paper as sparks fly. It emerges using it's cybernetic boney claws, revealing it's full form. Hayden would probably be a sub boss who gets corrupted fusing both machine and supernatural evil into a puppet of the icon.
