This is my favorite FPS campaign level in, well, history. I had been waiting for "The Only Thing They Fear is You" to enter the in game soundtrack...it could not have been put to better use. Nonstop action. Legendary soundtrack. Phenomenal level and battle design. Samuel fuckin' Hayden. Definitely the most "LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO" level in the game.

It's very dear to me too, I love each and every room and encounter because after only 2 runs it becomes familiar and more and more enjoyable as you get your gameplay straight, up until that final test that I'd say, in case of this ML, it's the only disappointment, given it wasn't changed at all. Some weapons aren't used as frequently, like crucible or BFG are used only a few times throughout the game so they can be further away, like 5-8 or V,G,T. Basically frequently used weapons should be on fast and easy to reach keys.

It's amazing when you sense you own skill improve in this game. At first I died quite a few times on the basic level on nightmare. However today I completed the horde mode (sadly only on hurt me plenty) and after that managed to complete this master level on Nightmare and only died three times. I expected the heavy or even super heavy demons beside the marauder at the end LOL.

Zero Master thank you very much for the tips on keybinding. I imitated your layout with some slight changes and I immediately noticed that I can fight A HECK LOT better now that I can easily switch weapons on the fly. that speedrun vid took ZM ~10hours. It is exhausting if you keep focused. I can keep focused, idk, mbe 5hrs max, after that im getting tired as hell, it is just for example. Imagine how complicated its going to be to play UNM with no upgrades. Thanks, this guy is great! his work is complete and speedy! I had loading trouble on these master levels and with cultist base altogether, doors sometimes will not open after an encounter, re-loading checkpoints sometimes worked. No save point to exit to main in master levels.

The crucible is more of a last resort kind of thing, something you want to use if you are low on health and need to get rid of a archvile or tyrant real quick

Both the Crucible and BFG are super situational. They instantly kill at least three enemies, but their ammo only appears in levels after this one, so you only have two shots maximum with the BFG, and three with the Crucible. If he was suddenly cornered by a Baron or Armored Mancubus, then he probably would've, but theres no reason to break out the overkill when there's no way to restock your overkill.

I had to fight them without it the first time i did arc complex. Did it all without dying on my 2nd go though, and i have to say it is quite fun. The master arc complex level is like one big slayer room.

the master level of this is easier than the normal level on nightmare difficulty imo. the bigger encounters on the master level version lack chaos, cause there's only really superheavies and a few imps, unlike later regular nightmare levels and the cultist base master level where you're often dealing with 2-3 super heavies at the same time as lots of other heavies, instead of just sending in enemies in very small waves like this level. hope the future master levels look more like cultist base

I’m literally like 20 times better now than when I first started playing on PC, and like 100 times better than when I first got the game on Xbox when it released. Mouse and keyboard is way easier for this game and having a mouse with extra programmable buttons is fucking awesome. I use a completely different set of keybinds than every other FPS player I’ve seen in the last 5 years, my layout is from when I was a kid playing quake and couldn’t get the hang of the WASD thing. But I love it, I think it has advantages over the common layout, and disadvantages.
