You know, in a lot of video games it feels like the enemies are playing along with you. Like they're trying to pretend to hurt you but also let you have fun--kind of like when a parent lets you win at board games and stuff as a kid. Watching this, it's clear to me: Doom Eternal wants you fucking _dead_. It's not coddling you. Enemies aren't secretly holding back so you can win. It's all up to you and your skillset to survive and emerge victorious...

They are definitely holding back. Watch the video "Embracing Push Forward Combat in DOOM ". The number of attacks coming at you at once is limited. If they all came at you at once you'd be dead in two seconds.

It takes time but you get a feel for it if you keep playing the harder settings. Then all of a sudden the audio cues and a few different effects on the screen let you see the whole picture and you just pick your way through. Learning the loop with weapons ammo armour and health plays a big part too.

they fired on sight, more frequently, projectiles were faster and pinkies were faster, and also enemies respawned after a while. You also got double ammo from pick ups.

spirit possessions differ between enemies. Most of the time its either 50% or 75%. totem buffs are probably the same but theres no numbers. since haste 2 probably doubles attack speed across the board for all enemies they are probably 50% to 75% faster

I love the Cultist Base, cuz of the music, pretty sure any DOOM Fan loves the Cultist Base theme. But the only thing I really hate about it is the "puzzle" where you have to go up and down those elevators. The grinding noises are stuck in my head, cuz when I first played Eternal, I couldn't get past that part lol.
