Pretty sure Q3 may still have its own weird canon, though it depends on what most people, id included, even look more. The cut lines (Coming from the PS2 Q3 version, which much like the RPG games, is only acknowledge over some specific trivia and not even about its playability/accessability) sound like Caleb, as a contrast to the "heavy" voice in Eternal. Fun fact: Doomguy actually spoke first in a port of Q1 because of an animated webcomic included. The "rip and tear" guy inspired 2016 but still gets hurt and is still traditional in that way. Romero once said he wasn't a fun of Flynn's name, which is good for the same novels that retcon the demons into aliens. In general, it's worth noting the reason why there's so many characters like these, including variations of the Doomguy, is for the same reason why some stuff wasn't always canon or is a seperate timeline: "Universe" wasn't a thing during those times. For 2016/Eternal to establish a lore/universe is to set something that is not that considered previously in the games. Speaking of cut content: The Doom Bible had 4 playable marines.

If you're referencing the awkward canon of Doomguy being in Q3, I assume it's just a version of him from another universe, that way he can exist in both franchises without complications. Also works with the Slayer being in champions despite QC being a prequel to Q3. The voice is interesting, it's not the tone I would've expected from a 90's action hero but it works in a weird way. I like Flynn Taggart a lot more than John or another Blazkowicz, I think it's probably the best non-canon name we've heard so far. The novels are weird though, so I get it. And I completely forgot about the original four characters! May do another short on that sometime
