Oh man, I'd hate to be fighting Hectic. His attacks are not completely dodgable; he summons miniature versions of himself, and his black orb hurts more than rockets. Oh, and he's far tougher than a Cyberdemon.

Actually, this monster fights you. In ZDoom, however, you can spawn a friendly one by using typing "summonfriend" in the console and then the monster's name.

Baron type monsters do not flinch or flee from your gunshots, or from any other enemy gunshots. That is an advantage to the barons because the will still attack you, even if you are mowing them down with a chaingun or rockets. That is why the spidermastermind was obviously going to lose, because that trait does not apply to other moster types except the cyberdemon.

Glad to read that. If you want to create a megawad, go to a Doom forum (the Skulltag forums are no longer available), and seek some help there. Sorry, I never made any level. I'm more into coding weapons and monsters. There is also some tutorials on making levels here on KZbin.

I don't have a favorite but I like Scaliano's 667 Shuffle (random monsters and weapon spawner), Scythe (the first), Mars War, Mini-Level Megawad, The Rebirth, 1994 Tune-up Community Project, Congestion, Claustrophobia, Deus Vult II, Nuts, Hate Arena, Whispers of Satan, etc.

I'm not very experienced with SLADE yet but try selecting all of the .png textures you want from your .wad with it, then right-click them, then open the Gfx menu and finally export as PNG. Hope it helps. XWE is normal as always with me.

I grabbed already made monsters and replaced their code with my own and recolored their sprites with XWE. You can use SLumpEd or SLADE, too.

Another Doom editor like XWE, but more advanced, updated and supports .pk3 format (often used for ZDoom mods, etc.).

You need ZDoom, GZDoom or Skulltag for that. Go to the console (press `, the key to the left of 1), then type "summon" and then a monster's name, like "demon" or "doomimp", then hit the enter key. You can also summon friendly monsters, just type "summonfriend" instead of just "summon".

@owmyears Not so much, but it took me a while to get used to this though. Once you get used to that, it is a piece of cake. Use the ZDoom Wiki and some monsters for help.

Mmm... use a ZDoom-based source post. Open the console, and type "summon" and the summon name of the monster, and it will appear. You can also summon a friendly version of it by typing "summonfriend" and then the monster's name. Examples: "summon doomimp" to spawn an Imp. "Summonfriend cyberdemon" to spawn a friendly Cyberdemon.

Cybie actually beat the Hectic! Hectic was first spawning baby Hectics then a lot of them shooting fire balls at the Cybie! But the Cybie's rockets were too powerful. Dealing 150-200 damage. Hectic died first because he was busy spawning little ones then died but the Cybie couldn't beat the little ones. Cybie: 4000 HP Hectic:2300HP

Well, I'm not a pro with it but I know Skulltag doesn't have an updated coding database like ZDoom or GZDoom has. Maybe that's why it gives you errors.

Based on what I remember from the last time I modified the monster (2013), it has two attacks (many white fireballs and a giant black/white ball) and spawns smaller versions of itself.

Are you running GZDoom? Run it with its latest version. I also recommend a little program called ZDL. It is a launcher in which you can load many wads into GZDoom at the same time. Also, copy and paste the error message as a reply to see if I messed it up.

these big black and white colored ball name is deathball if you are using this wad type in console summon deathball and it will summon a death ball which is so strong that 1/2 hits to hell knight and he is dead also really awesome mod anyway i still have fun with it coolest thing is go to console put summonfriend hecticjr and it will summon tiny baby hectic who will follow you and fights for you:D
