Hey, decino, glad that you enjoyed my suggestion! HG is a really good levelset, especially map 4 and 7. Map 4 really shows how versatile Eternal's mapping skills are, but map 7 flows better imho. If anyone wants to check out some of his other stuff, I highly recommend 32 inch nails, cyberskyXXXI, and especially Epic 2. He also made maps 14, 28 and 31 of Plutonia 2, which are all pretty good. PS: next time, I'll see if I'm able to make a map myself, as I unfortunately didn't have enough time to make anything good.

It may date from 2009, but this has got to be one of the best designed maps I've ever seen when it comes to details. The 'staircase teleport' which imitates going to a different floor and spitting gargoyles are awesome. The hexen/heretic/quake textures are also really nice, they set a really dark and lurid atmosphere. Creativity at it's best, and I'm not even halfway through the video. I love it!

And the guns? "Probably just some interesting boomsticks brought by the walking fresh meat so let em lay around". Edit: thinking of it I wondered many years ago if it was possible to make "half damaged guns" i.e. guns that works decay.over use because it's been mauled, burnt o stomped over by some demons. And this you would have to use them wisely and eventually find a replacement. Well, pistol start makes it way easier.

I prefer the Valiant sounds for them, increased fire rate or not. But this sounds like you hear the internals of the chaingun chambering for the next burst. Pretty sick.

Fun Fact: The Spider Mastermind Chaingun shoots with this sound. In my opinion the Spider Mastermind also should've had Shotgun Chaingun. Because with regular Chaingun the spider is so bad! Especially with BFG and as a Episode 3 Boss.

Hexen player here, the texture with the 3 holed skull is a Hexen texture. I'll edit this if I see any more Edit 1: Switch with the chain used in the SSG and secret at/near 8:05 is a Hexen texture rotated 45 degrees

Amazing map, so many great things to laud over. I’m taking that this means that viewer submissions don’t need to be made by the viewer, which really opens up a lot of doors. Funny you mention the Doom 3 styling, the red skull bit is exactly like part of the hell level in Doom 3

What an atmospheric map. I agree with everything you said about. As I played it, I oversaw that this is already the final map of this map set. I was wondering that such a final boss is so early in the game. After I bet him I knew why. Was so disappointed that this beautiful game was so short. But anyway. Very well done kind of disturbing map but for all the good reasons. As far as I know is the whole set made by one man, Alexander S. (ETERNAL/DEADALL) a very talented mapper from Russia. Jesus H Christm good job Decino my man. You're a killer, thats for sure. I actually did just finish this WAD and this map was a good finisher. I did it on UV just like you but I saved often and died a few times, but never to the point were I got frustrated. But if anything, the Icon fight was a bit meh, because as you also noticed he was hard to hit, I almost ran out of ammo before getting the damn think killed. Other than that this was a really good map and the whole WAD was very enjoyable.

The amount of chainsaw usage I then saw was not meant for mortal eyes! Sherlockcino deciphered all the secrets and the mystery of the lost cacodemon. I really like that map and will definitely look the whole mapset as it looks dark and creepy :) keep up the quality content uncle decino!

Hell Ground is brilliant, good enough to play the whole WAD imo. Eternal makes amazing maps always, the best mapper out there imo such a shame he doesnt make any maps WADs anymore :( he's unrivaled when he does. Also i use that chaingun sound with ever wad it makes the chaingun sound way beefier and hardhitting i love it.
